Being recognized is different then being added to the olympics. Powerlifting is already in the world games so it is already recognized by the IOC...

The only thing wrong with the XPC is that its basically just like the IPF in that it creates a monopoly within itself.
multiple fed coalition, but
have to do XPC semi's
If it were more like a "nationals" where you hit a qualifying total in the participating feds and you're in I think it would be a much bigger hit. And do their best to incorporate the SPF and APF.
I would care a lot more about multyply lifting if it wouldn't be so damn fractured. I hate seeing "world records" done in **** meets with **** judging. I just wanna see brian carroll and hoff on the same platform, same time, same fair judging. Not one guy in columbus hitting a big total with his buddies judging and another guy doing the same at some ****show meet on the other side of the country.***Georgia Crew***

Yes^^^^^^^^^^^^^. You don't get paid in the Olympics unless you're one of the lucky few who gets endorsed. If Arena football made it as far as they made it, I don't see why Powerlifting can't at least get that far too. It just has to be presented in a way that the average gym rat can understand. Like Takeit said, there needs to be a lot of commentary. The biggest problem that I see is that it's really only being marketed/exposed towards people that are gonna watch/come to the meet anyways. It needs to be marketed to the average joe who lifts, but hasn't ever been to a meet. Commercials would be helpful. Just getting commercials on local TV stations would make a big difference. If a big meet comes to town it needs to be promoted in other ways besides a flyer or two put up in a local gym. Money would probably be the biggest issue here.
1708 total @220 Raw
Improve my total every time I step on the platform.

Lol owned.
I think the best way we got people to hear about our meet in Tally was to have a seminar the day before. Having a big name like Layne Norton there brought out alot of bodybuilders/nutrition people to the seminar that didn't even know a powerlifting event was going on in Tally. Hearing insightful things from well known bodybuilders/powerlifters/nutritionist/coaches for free could bring in some more people which would then bring in supplement companies to set up their booths. And maybe it would get more people from other sports to try out powerlifting.
EDIT:
Advertising at nearby college campuses could work as well. We had everyone we knew in the exercise science department to tell all the students about the seminar and the meet and give out extra credit if they could. That way we got the news around and atleast had people show up that could possibly become interested from seeing/hearing about powerlifting.1372 @ 205

also the showcase events like the Arnold, Olympia, Fit Expo's create a ton of exposure to average meatheads that are there for the event and not necessarily the powerlifting but they get to see an awesome meet and big time lifters.

can you guys tell me how bad and terrible my squats are? TRying to start all over again ive had real bad issues with depth and hip injuries and this is first time I used a belt or shoes. trying to hi-bar squat.. my lowbar is terrible good morning status and my hips do not agree with depth at all. I felt with these it was decent.
Am I on the right track? I really want to compete and get my squat numbers back up there but I'm gonna do everything I can do squat to depth. I'm just not sure how it'll be called at my first meet. Going as deep as I can..gonna keep it light till I get it right.Last edited by samsont; 11-26-2012 at 03:54 PM.
