That's why you make yourself a nice sandwich and then hop on your bike and make your dog pull you while you enjoy your sandwich. It works really well until your dog sees a squirrel, runs out in front of the bike, and then you lose control and hit the gravel and cut everything open.

Ahh. I get you now. I guess it really just depends on how you're wired. I've had some bad things happen to me but typically I can get locked in and free my mind when I'm in the gym.
I actually started lifting after my divorce (don't ask. married young, she was crazy. long story haha).
I had 0 self confidence and joined a gym and fell in love with the escape it provided.
I've still had a few crappy family situations that definitely affected my lifting short term. I just lost the urge to do the things I loved for a while, but eventually you realize that the only way to move on is to resume doing what you like, IMO.

There are a few competitions this weekend, how many people are competing?
It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. It might be impressive in the short run, but in the long run it just doesn't make any sense. ~breathinglife

Gonna smash about 200 grams of carbs right after I weigh in tomorrow. Gatorade, bananas, and pop-tarts. Then I'll have sushi or pizza for dinner.
1708 total @220 Raw
Improve my total every time I step on the platform.

I'm gonna try not to eat too much right after weighing in, but I know I need to get in as much as I can. I'll probably eat dinner around 7-7:30 so hopefully I'll have plenty of room. I'm not cutting, but I wouldn't mind being a full 220-222 on the platform. I'll probably weigh in around 217-218. I usually lose 4-6lbs over night and I'm not gonna cram in a huge breakfast before the meet. The sodium from the pizza or sushi should help me retain more weight over night.
lol, yeah I'm glad I'm not into that.....yet. I may give it a whirl in a few months.1708 total @220 Raw
