Expensive as fuk
Expensive as fuk ammo
Little/no reloading data or components
.22WMR ballistics
Only good ammo is illegal to purchase
Silly
Marvin Harrison (pro in my book, Colts FTW)
Brb, spending 4x the price of a Keltec PMR30 with the same ballistic effect and 5x the ammo cost.
If someone is super recoil shy (and I mean paralyzed from the waist up, requiring they shoot with their feet) then it makes some sense, other than that its pure cool factor. If your budget allows that, great! Im too cheap for my guns to not have a purpose.

I don't get that lever. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like money has been spent for rails (with nothing on them) and a fancy stock, but functionally nothing has really been added and, if I'm not mistaken, it still has the sub-par stock sites even...?

I bought it for a few reasons, Everyone knocks it only because they think all lever actions should be wood, but its been almost impossible to find at regular price so there are alot of in the closet tacticool ninja's out there. I didnt really buy it to be tacticool but because I like the stock adjustment the fiber optic sights are actually very well constructed and the rail is nice for a light for home defense. The gun is pretty compact with the stock all the way down and fits very well behind my bedroom door for HD. I also dont own anything that shoot's 30-30 so that was just a bonus in doing the purchase for me, I got it for $415 out the door so I feel its worth the money.

but really i think i would want a lever with .458 socom or something with laminate/polymer furniture
or possibly a magazine fed lever of different calibers like .308 or 5.56, i think there used to be a few different designs like helical magazines to deal with non flatnose bullets for like 30-06 but not sure if they are made anymore
edit: actually would want 45-70 over .458. was thinking the OAL difference would let you load a lot more but it would basically give you like 4/3 the ammo in the same tube while being more expensive, less common, and less energy on the top end. 308 would still be cool though.Last edited by livebrah; 07-05-2012 at 11:59 PM.

What's going on *******s. I'm finally getting in on one of these threads. All the others were way too long when I found them, and I couldn't be fucked to read the whole thread to catch up.
Here's a picture of my carry guns.
I had a pf-9 but I sold it off.

You never played the circle game as a kid?
The Circle Game
A game of peripheral vision, trickery and motor skills.
The game starts out when the Offensive Player creates a circle with their thumb and forefinger, not unlike an "A-Okay" signal, somewhere below his waist.
His goal is to trick another person into looking at his hand. If the Victim looks at the hand, he has lost the game, and is subsequently hit on the bicep with a closed fist, by the offensive player.*MFC*

i think if a lever action would be "tactical" i dont think 30-30 would be the calibre of choice. 357 or 44 magnum maybe.
i am seeing a heap of used 30-30 levers coming up for sale and the odd 357, 44 and 22lr... but im hunting for a 45colt! :/

Lever actions are cool as ****, even those plastic ones are pretty interesting. I prefer the wood style, though, looks classy, but I wouldn't mind some nice fiber optic sights on it either.
Do I even lift?

I'm not a huge fan of the tactical lever, but to each his own.

30-30 has nearly identical ballistics with 7.62x39 out to 150 yards or so. Tacticool levers bring the lulz, but fact is a LOT of deer and good/bad guys have been put down with them. My grandads old 94' was my first home defense gun (broke college student- all I had). Cops carried them in squad cars before the proliferation of the AR platform. In fact, I think some still do. It was called the redneck assault rofl for a reason.
Decent rate of fire, effective round, low recoil, accurate within 150-200 yards, short/handy, and throw it in the mud without worrying reliability. There is still a lot to like about them. Im glad to see them making a comeback.
