02-03-2015, 03:34 PM #9453You can spend days, weeks or even months analyzing a situation - just trying to put the pieces together. Justifying what you should've and could've done, and what would've happened ... or you can leave the pieces on the floor and move on.

Have been off the grid since the week before Halloween, primarily due to my wife having 4 surgeries during the month of November and the fact that she was not released from wound care facility until the middle of January. Quit maintaining my journal here despite keeping my hardcopy up to date. During the past three months, I've managed to stay on track with my meal plans and the majority of my workouts. To start the New Year, I re-instituted a PHAT program. As I turned 75 years of age, three days ago I thought I needed new progress pics. Here's one taken during a rest period (bench curls) today.
Inactivity Kills!!!
My journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=140991491 Age is NOT an acceptable excuse.
Played with dinosaurs as a child. Back then everyone was thin; it was a matter of out-running the raptors or being one of their meals.

Thank you, melDorado! I believe those are the intercostals. The serratus are more like saw teeth (hence the name, like serrated) and are higher up in the shadows.
Maybe in the past, but you look great now - curves in all the right places!
Good to have you back and hope your wife is doing well now.
Looks like you need to buy a new workout shirt every yearPeace: Lift Long and Prosper!

Aw thanks for the nice comments guys. The bigger my hips and lats get there will be an illusion of having a waist too so nothing unfixable if I put the work in I now know.

Back to 4 plates for paused reps, no more mental block about my left hip at this point.
Now I need to get back to where I was last year

Doc....really awesome conditioning. Im jealous!
Halfway.....you should change your name to "All the way!" with those squats. Great to see you are feeling good.
I posted this in the June cutting thread, but figured I would drop it here as well.
Cut is progressing well on this front. 7 weeks in. I was not planning on posting any pics till I get in decent shape, but I snapped a quick one at the gym tonight. Was not a leg night believe it or not. Just being warm (and the fact that I ate a banana before I worked out) got my veins popping. Figured I would snap a quick one.

I do mobility work for 30 mins then goblet squats before even squatting the bar, and having half an inch of bone cut out of my left hip last year helped
My right hip is still impinged but my mobility is a little better now the left moves freely
It's mostly knee travel not hip mobility , when I squat to a box I can't go lower than a 10" box

Wow your depth puts me to shame squatting, and I needed that with me getting cocky comparing myself to the curtsey squatters in my gym lol. Good job!

Health issues (not an injury and nothing too serious) and other life things got in the whey the past 18 months. Main reason for my absence. Feeling great the past three weeks. Not back to my 10-12 rep of 225 but I'm getting back there for sure!!!

Biggest I have been in this off season at around 216. Was doing 600 g of carbs this week and will do the same next week then cut back. Carbs have done me good but will continue to monitor weight. Don't want to get too far out of shape because it will be rough when prep for my contest comes around.
