Beautiful pictures! All I can say is "wow!"
Another lucky guy - she looks very down to earth and real. As well as real purty.
Jeez - that's before your cut?
Awesome job! So odd to see you doing something normal....
Nice to see someone really impressive using the hex bar. I find it's a lot easier for me to get up heavy (for me) weight using a hex. Plus it saves me from scraping my shins

Great work on that 5pps dead = superstrong at 6% body fat! That lift looked very clean as well
Good work getting the 190kg lift
My latest pics:
I've been trying to cut but I love my food too much. It's a bad time of year here --- coming up to Christmas and the end of year parties with all the food and drink, but heading into Shorts and T shirt weather

Thanks, i was 178 on my 55th at the end of september, so I'm only up 9 pounds. This is my first PLANNED bulk, so I eased into it. And, yea, I think she is pretty cool.
Thanks, just trying to squeeze out the last little bit my old body has left in it. And happy birthday to you. I see you just joined the 50+ club.
Thank you
Thanks, I'm working hard to try and catch up with your back shot. You have some great mass.
Thanks, I've been working at it.
There are a ton of people on this site that inspire me, thank you, very nice words to hear.
Thanks, I been following your transformation. Awsome work. I'm a couple of months into the 3rd year of mine, not quite up to where your at, but hoping to really rock it this summer. Shooting for 185 to 190 in single digit bf. Got my fingers crossed and the food scale on the table.
Thanks everyone, I hope I didnt miss anyone, this is my first attemp at a multi quote post so bear with me.

Very inspiring stuff on here! This vid is from 3 days ago, squats, 245 X 5 @ 165 lb. Not heavy by most standards on this site, but I've actually put 20 lb on my squat in the last few months. (I'm only lifting consistently for a year and a half)

Thanks Flex. Our hex bar won't hold as much weight as an Oly. Pretty much maxed out at 5 plates. Its probably too light for you big guy.
Thanks Josh.
Thanks Doc.
Thanks Andrew. Your cut shows great progress. Nice work, stay on it."I'm not a Ninja, but I played one on TV." -cmoore, American Ninja Warrior (ANW 7,8)

And thanks for the positive comments - just need to keep it lean and mean while building the mass...

Trying new things to work around a small injury.
Overly long...but funny story
This weekend we had some friends over for drinks and food. One couple we had not seen in some time. (not since I have really started to get back in shape). As the night went on, and the husband got a few more beers in him....he started busting my balls about being in shape. I think he was getting jealous that some of the girls made some comments about me joking to my wife that "who needs Magic Mike? (the movie)....It was all in good fun....and I was flattered...but also just took it as a funny joke.
Background on the guy...he is a typical runner, cardio slave, type. He is 6'2 maybe 175-180. He is "fit" by most standards. I know he runs almost every day.
We were all standing around my kitchen island and he starts going into this crap like....."what good is all that muscle?"...."It probably just makes you slow"...."bet you were more athletic before you packed on the mass"....etc. I smiled and laughed.... I told him...."No....I'm pretty athletic still". He then made the mistake of saying..."you probably cant even jump a foot in the air". Again, I laughed....but never one afraid to put my money where my mouth is.....I quickly replied, "I am sure I can out jump you!"
It was getting good now....all the girls were around and the other husbands. I turned and said, "what do you propose?". He said, "I'll bet you cant even get up up on your island without a ladder". (As if that is even hard..at 36-37"). Almost before he finished his sentence, with a quick push to clear away a party tray of food, in jeans, with a beer, and barely bending at the knees (no step), I jumped onto the island. Everyone laughed....(except my wife..who kind looked at me cross)
OK...now it got good.... Everyone was egging this on. We started looking for something really hard to jump over. I did not even ask him to get on the island as it was not even hard. I then looked in the living room where we have a giant oversize arm chair. (36" tall in the back, but very deep) I pointed and said....."there.....jump that!....NO STEP". He shook his head... "No way...that is way too far....YOU do it!".
I approached it....and to be honest, as I did, it was a lot bigger then I thought. With a good step, it would not have been hard...but flat footed....I almost could not get myself to try. I put my beer down...and said "screw it" to myself. Stood in front and adjusted my distance from the couch several times, trying to reason the trajectory I would need to make it. Finally I went for it! Clearing the top was no big deal. As I passed over it was going to be tight for clearing the seat cushion. I tucked my feet and pulled my knees all the way into my chest....and kept them there, my heels skimming the cushion on the way down. I landed in a ball (knees tucked), no ROM to cushion the landing. Everyone cheered and we all laughed.
I did not want to let on, but landing like that (without cushion), I pulled my hamstring somehow. Not terribly, but a 5 out of 10...with a constant ache. Anyway....I would not let on to the guy that I hurt myself!. Needless to say, he shut up and everyone ribbed on him. No more "useless muscle" and "muscle bound" comments from him that night.
Fast forward to todays workout. (legs).
I normally do heavy RDL as part of my hamstring work, but during leg presses, I could feel it was not 100%. Since I lowered volume, I wanted to hit it good though. I decided to try Rest / Pause sets with RDL. (Something I have never tried).
I went with a weight about 20% lighter then I would normally use....and just tried it out. I actually LOVED it. To be honest, I felt the reps deeper in the muscle then when I go heavier. After the workout, the walk down the stairs required me to hold the railing for stability. (something I rarely have to do).
I decided to shoot a vid of a set. This is not an exercise most would think of doing rest/pause with....but it was GREAT!.
Hard to see in the vid (as the carpet on my lifting platform is black) but I stopped with about 2" left above the ground and held it there.
And BTW....I am giving up my jumping career

Great job - and steady progress!
I recently found a nice picture of me taken 10 years ago and I wanted to recreate it for comparison. Unfortunately, I was working in Puerto Rico on the actual 10-year anniversary, but I got back 2 days ago and today went out to do the picture. So it's a 10 year and 11 day comparison. I still have the same shirt and pants, but new shoes and forgot about the belt - I was skinnier back then and needed it to hold up my pants. I had to run around with a timer, so the framing and pose isn't quite the same, but it's close.
I know it's not a lot of progress compared to the average O35er here, but it's still the best shape I've ever been in. I hope to do this annually from now on.
Left: November 29, 2002; age 39, weight 150?; won't set foot in a gym for another 8 1/2 years (geez, I had skinny arms!)
Right: December 10, 2012, age 49, weight 174, been lifting for 19 months. It's obvious where most of my gains have been - the hair!

Hammies are sore as hell today. Actually much more so then if i did the same 7 reps with 495. I think the stretch at the bottom really accentuates the contraction and also TUT. (this is part of DC type training...without the insane short rest). Instead, I did long rest and 4 sets of these.
I am thinking this may be more effective in activating the hams. I might keep it....plus it saves my lower back for my friday conventional deads. Doing these on Mon and then heavy conventional on Fri is hard to recover from on a deficit.RAW lifts

Man the flat belly looks great. Do you have a target low weight? Or a date that you plan to quit cutting? Anyway, nice job on the cut.
I'm really frustrated right now because my motivation and energy levels are sky high, but my left shoulder and right elbow are hurting pretty bad. I can do push ups and some light chest and back on the machines without pain, but otherwise upper body work is out for now. I can't even hoist a 20 lb DB into position for any sort of press without elbow pain so bad that I almost drop it. Which sucks big time because after working out in a real gym the week of Thanksgiving where I was able to test my strength with spotters and everything, I was really psyched to increase my weight levels until this hit. So now my plan is to give the shoulders & elbows a complete rest & recovery period and do only legs and abs and cardio until Dec 31. When I finally break loose of my free fitness center at work and start at the real gym on Jan 1, I'll start back up with a full workout split. If I'm still in pain then I'll have to go see a doctor.
This is today, after a very light and modified shoulder workout.. my last one for at least 3 weeks.

Thanks!
No target on the scale.... Just using it to track. My target is to get my abdominal area lean....(in the 5-6 mm range) I am there in the sides, but directly on the navel, I am still holding 10-12mm. (very concentrated there). My goal is to strip it....and then hope to reset my fat distribution a little.
Many guys have seen this happen for them, I am hoping it will work for me too. My overall goal will then be to ramp cals back up and have a much better midscetion while doing it.

Thanks... I think. I don't feel much leaner; I just feel smaller, which isn't good. I think the avi is from July. My workouts have been crazily inconsistent ever since August due to time challenges and laziness, but one thing I've been consistent on is not missing my shoulder & trap workout days. I know you can't really tell from that new pic, but I think it's true what they say (or what I've read), that building up your shoulders and traps (and of course lats) helps to make your waist look smaller.
