If I attempted one of these, I would be posting it up in the fail thread!
Flex, your lifts are seriously impressive! I didn't think your form was that bad at all. It's so hard to keep perfect form when pulling **** that heavy!
Frozen, looking beastly...
You all look great dammit!!

Just got back from my first powerlifting comp, was pretty cool.
Only got video of my last deadlift attempt...was so focused on everything else I forgot to ask someone to film earlier.
Made my opener easy, got the second lift up but ended up getting 2 red lights from the side judges who said I "wobbled" at the top. So the third lift is slightly off of my goal 407 (185k) because my coach wanted me to be able to make the lift easy. Ended up doing 385 (175k) on the third lift no problem.
Ended up taking 1st in my division, Masters Pure @ 181 (weighed in at 173.8), so I was happy.
Made all 3 bench attempts, but only ended up at 182, and made 2 of 3 squat attempts ending up at 285. So I totaled about 852. Obviously lots of room for improvement, next comp is March.Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult...

Wow that's a great link!! Thank you so much for posting. I'm going to bookmark it!
Another very informative response and link! Much appreciated. I think the whole point of DC training is supposed to be to "force" the lifter to make progress. Reducing the volume, increasing the intensity, and challenging oneself to "beat the book" in every workout seem to be strategy for this program. It's very different from what I'm used to but I'll give it a shot. I must admit that I have, in the past, focused more on volume (more sets and/or more exercises) at the expense of pushing more weight. I want to get STRONGER. I hope this new mindset will be the key!
Thanks! And you, sir, are a BEAST! That is one wicked-looking exercise and I don't know anyone else who could do that!
Haha! Well I'm glad pudgy is in because the scale continues to move on upward. I ain't skeered... ok maybe just a little skeered. Yall be honest with me and lemme know if the harpoons need manning

Well, a friend of a friend owns a gym, and they were having a small powerlifting meet. I decided on Monday to do it.
Took a week off from lifting and had a good time. When I say small, I mean SMALL. I pulled the heaviest Deadlift, and the heaviest Squat. 550 and a 440.
Then after, while every one was taking pictures, I started goofing around.
They had 445lbs on the bar sitting in front of the rack to take pictures. I handed a friend my camera and asked him to take a shot. Little did I realize that about 6 more people pulled out cameras to take pictures. Ended up holding that shot for a good 30 seconds.
Yes, those are cowboy boots, and no, I didn't chalk up or put on my belt. and that's just shy of a 2x pull. I was 227 that morning at the weigh-in.The Iron will never Lie to you.
