Here's something I'm kind of proud of from this week, my car deadlift for reps event, I got 13, it's decent, now I'm on to working toward outstanding. I'll get there eventually.
I got 13 reps with pulling the car, but picking my shoes up afterward about killed me, lol.

That is just sooo crazy. And no one will know just how crazy till they try to do them
Awesome does not do it justice.
I am not an expert on deadlift form as I still struggle with mine. But yes....WAY too much rounding. Dont sweat it. Just need to bring the strength up.
You need to feel that chest out and shoulders back. That will make you notice instantly when round. Try to envision getting in a position where your shoulders are behind the bar. (Note how yours relax and come forward). It is all in that "proud chest" posture. Work on that.
Doing RDL's is great for that. You start at the top so you are not rounded. Then just keep it there.
Good luck.RAW lifts

The thing I noticed is that your first motion in the lift appears to be shooting your hips into the bar. At 18 seconds in, it looks as if you're curling your tailbone underneath yourself, which in turn rounds your back. Don't shoot the hips to the bar until the bar is over your knees. The first part of the motion is leg drive. It's really strange to think about it this way, but imagine you're using your legs to push the floor away from you.

It took me longer than expected but I'm back to the size I was before all of my super fun health issues.
There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

Awesome work guys and gals. The lifts in this thread are truly inspirational, getting me pumped for todays back workout. Going for 445 dl, hit 425 last week so we'll see what happens.
Bigtallox those car lifts are amazing! I've never seen anything like that, really cool.
postworkout: went for 450lb DL, moved it about 2 inches. Dropped to 435 for 1 rep..new PR...I'm happy with that.Last edited by Get-n-fit; 03-05-2013 at 11:02 AM.

Ok so I attempted sumo deadlifts today and I'm in need of critique again please. I did videos of almost every set and they are posted in my journal but here I will post only a couple.
Easy first set -
133 x 10 - focus on form. I think my form looks the best here at the lighter weight and starts to break down as I increase.
Heaviest set -
199 x 8 -form starts to break down. I should be sitting in to it more... right? I think I'm using more back here and that my butt is too high. Thoughts? Last time I only did 1 rep at this weight... today I did 8!
... oh yeah... this one has just a little "wiggle" LOL
TIA!!!

Looks good Stephanielynn76. I'd have to agree your form looks better at the lighter weight. In the first video your bending more at your knees and in the second one more in the hips.....or it could be the angle of the second video. Make sure that you are sitting on your heels so that if you were to let go of the weight you would fall backwards on your ass as opposed to foward on your face.
Also, whats up with your weight increments? 133, 199, I've never seen weights add up to those amounts before, all I've seen is your typical, 5,10,25,45,100 plates. Are they olmpic plates? Just curious.Lift light until you can lift right
