First time in years and not since the shoulder disloc have I tried this heavy (140I and 150 F). A bit on the nervous side and hardly perfect form and what not but I feel good about the progress just the same.
Incline DB press 140s
Flat Bench DB press 150s
Incline DB press 130s
-Form on my presses could be better
-Zach (my spotter) said he didn’t really help but his face expressions say he was doing at least some. I honestly didn’t notice elbow pressure from him but it sure looks like he helped a bit. Still though, felt good.

Very strong lifts cmoore!!! Unfortunately our DB's only go to 130 in my gym. I need a couple spotters like you, I kill a lot of energy getting in and out of position.

Damn those are some big bells, nice!
pretty soon you'll have to have a a barbell in each hand kind of like the guy next to you

that's partly why I only do one arm DB pressing these days - you can get a single DB into perfect position even if it's pretty heavy vs swinging a pair of them up and risking a shoulder pop.

Nice. If you dont want to have to mess with the spotters, get a pair of dumbell hooks. Since I work out alone, they are pretty much a necessity for me. They work very nice.
This vid is a few months old....but you can see how nice they work.

Never heard of them before, they are ingenious!

A few sets from my last heavy deadlift day before my contest on Mar 23rd.
You can see the last set of deficits in the video, these focus on form and speed.
I did 3 sets at 225 and 3 sets at 275, which is about 60% of my goal for the contest. I feel like these have really helped my leg drive more than anything.
After the deficits I did some pulls from the floor: 2 sets at 315, 2 sets at 365, and 2 sets at 405.
Finished off the workout with "good mornings" in the hack squat machine, leg press machine, cable pull throughs, and cable crunches.
Pretty much fried at this point, but at least I get to taper down for the next few weeks.

Nice job man. Not far off at all.

Great attempt Bando, you are very close. One suggestion, plant your heels into the ground and do not move them during the press ( like your 300) When you move your feet you are breaking your setup which makes the lift harder. If your feet/heels can't touch, place a 25# plate under each foot.
Best of luck..
2013 Goals :
Time for a redo.....
5K with my daughter...May 2013
Find some powerlifting comp and compete in the 242's. Goals:
Bench: 460# (Comp)
Squat: 575# (Comp)
HEY deadlifters......do you guys tear your knees and shins up on DL's?
Every single time I go over 350 lbs I tear up my left shin, never hit the right one and I know it's because of my mixed grip and as a result have a tendancy to pull the bar more to my left. I wrapped up my shin one time with an Ace bandage and still tore it up right thru the bandage and not a single mark on the Ace itself.
Don`t forget Detroit is like ummmm Baghdad without all the glitter ....Thomas Henry
You'll have the 315 soon and blasted right through the 300!

There were a few things wrong on that attempt, my feet being one of them. I've tried the plates under my feet before, will try again - thanks for the input!
Thanks guys for the responses regarding tearing your knees/shins up. Sometimes I wear workout pans (not sweatpants) but they don't help prevent the light damage. I notice it get rougher the higher I go in weights, oh well.
Bando-looking strong, you'll be repping 315 before you know it.
mal1ce- nice deficit sumos, good luck at the contest!

Ok here goes my first attempt at trying to post vids. Although this is nothing compared to some of the beastly lifts I have seen in this thread it is the my biggest pull and I'm thrilled nonetheless . I'm hoping to get some advice on improving my form . I know I need to drop the weight in order to do this however I just wanted to max out before I shed some of this bodyfat and unfortunately some of the strength with it. Thanks for all who continue to post and inspire in here ! The first is 475 and the second is 495.

Strong for sure....but you are using zero leg drive. More a SLDL
Drop back in weight and learn to involve your whole body, not just lower back. Get a good hip drive going and try to keep the hips from rising before the weight does.
I have these same issues....so dont worry...they are fixable. But you have to bring the weight back down and re-learn form.

Thanks thnikkaman !
ID thanks for the tip. I've watched a lot of your vids and pound for pound you have to be one of the strongest guys out there. So much respect!
Did 315 for reps this morning. I started doing 5/3/1 to give my shoulders a bit of rest from getting used to low bar squats. Today was deadlifts. I only used straps for this set, and for my last set of DLs which was 175x10.
Probably should have stopped after 8, but I wanted 10. Yeah, I probably need a longer shirt, but my belly poking out at me is a great motivator.

My first ever video upload. After doing a heavy chest session I finished off with some dips.
If i'm being honest, this is a strong contender for worst video ever (the angle is way higher than intended), but i'll show it to mark the occasion and promise to do a better job next time!
Oh, and apologies for the hysterical wailing which the owner calls 'music'.
Alright guys, last one for me this week, taking tomorrow off from the gym since I have a charity 5k bright and early Sat morning. Here is from todays Dip session. Previous PR 110x2, here's my new pr 115x3 (2-45 plates and 1- 25). Not pretty and I thought my heard was going to explode on the last rep.
Caesura75- I'm seriously not trying to show you up, I've been waiting for an hour for my vid to upload to youtube and it still uploaded wrong. I edited it down and for some reason the full video uploaded. Great job on your dips after a heavy chest session.
