didn't read the 9 pages of responses so this message may be brought to you by the department of redundancy department:
I make right at 100k, and the quality of life here in Dallas (Allen) vs. that of So Cal (where I relocated from) is exponentially diferent. where you are geographically makes an enormous impact on how far your dollar goes, and out here--although I am not CEO'ing it-- I am very comfortable and I don't really want for anything.

No on all of that actually. Meals, no. Steaks, I wish. Mortgage less than 200K, car less than 28K, second to lowest plan on phone. But I'm going to venture to guess since you tried for me... you don't own a home, you aren't making car payments, you don't have two kids, you aren't married. I'm guessing I'm close. Considering you claim 35K a year.

But you still have a sh!tload more then the FAMILIES who live off of 25-35K a year.
I always lol when people act like 100K is poverty class. Then complain that they spend it all, have to worry about bills, etc.
Yet in the same breath they talk about the house and car notes, etc. These same people usually have big screen tv, smartphone, high speed internet, etc.
The bottom line is your income and quality of life is all relevant. The family who is surviving on 35K a year will be complaining about bills, and the family living on 235K a year will be complaining about bills too. The problem for most people isn't income, its learning how to manage their money/ live within their means.

Some people can't put food on the table and struggle to keep a roof over their head. Others lose it all trying to keep a sick family member alive, only to watch them die anyway when the money runs out. You should go and remind them of how happy they really are and how they should have higher goals in life. Money won't make them happier, after all.

and?
Life is mostly suffering, rich and poor people suffer equally. What else is there when you have everything, or when you have nothing? We'll leave this world carrying nothing, we'll all be forgotten and replaced, no emo or anything but i want other things in life rather than squeezing my paycheck to get the new camry that has 10 more hp than the one i own, or the new iphone 5.604939 tha has a billion more pixels than the previous version.
i wan't to breake the cycle, still haven't but i'm sure i will someday and no it doesn't mean that i'll go live in a forest like a dirty hippe.
Ps. i don't own a camry or an iphone, it was just an example

just to be on the same page, when you guys talk about salaries do you guys mean after tax or before tax? because there can be a huge difference between the two. i can make 50k a year before tax but end up getting 30k after tax.

Really? I pay zero per month. Use wifi. Its illegal to drive while you're on the phone anyway. lol $1100 per year is the cheapest option for you? I'll book a flight to Manila with that money, that stops over in Beijing for a couple months.

Ideally I'd like to have several kids in order to outsource the raising of them to a daycare and public school, and spend my time at work. saying hi to them when im tired in the evening is why i want the kids
i also want to pay thousands and thousands of dollars in expenses every month for the pleasure of going to work in new york.10 years Miscing
