    Should I Bulk or Cut? [Pics]

    I'm 20, male, 6ft, and 170lb. Been working out/dieting on and off for a few months. I've gained a little muscle but still unsure of what to do. I was around 180 and lost some weight. My goal is just to have a slim body for now, where I don't have any love handles or double chin. I've been lifting for a little while now so I'm pretty experience with the actual lifts. I'm thinking of starting the PHAT routine soon. Advice?

    I would cut. Your genetics are very similar to mine in that you store fat primarily in your chest/abdomen. I think you will be much happier with a cut. You'll also notice an improvement way faster. Plus, it's summer so you don't want to get any fatter.

    Cut for the rest of the summer, then clean bulk once you get down to a reasonable fat%.

    lol she doesn't know left from right. anyway. you want to be slim, so cut.. get some reasonable abs, then maintain for a couple of weeks, then start a slow 8-14month bulk whilst doing PHAT or whatever. train hard whilst u cut and ull make some gains at the same time no doubt.

    OP I'd recommend a cut down to 12-13% BF then do a slow clean bulk.

    The girl is kinda right. You should clean bulk with healthy food with low fats. Just by lifting hard and building a sweat you'll look leaner and be a lot bigger.


    Edit: do some cardio with the bulk and stay with your diet.

    your nowhere near the point of being ready for serious bulks and cuts.

    As a beginner unless you're an extreme skin and bones ectomorph or a seasoned lifter with a well developed physique or an overweight individual bulking/cutting shouldn't be your mindset.



    If your body doesn't fall into any of those 3 extremes you should be focused on training consistantly and eating to meet your training and recovery needs.
