Whats the story with reps? I've always used between 8-12 reps with any excercise or body part i train,im sure its not right, can any1 give me some insight on how many reps for each body part i should use

Varying opinions on this and much of it is individual. Contrary to conventional wisdom I gained more mass using the 3-5 rep range.

I typically use 3-5 for my main lift then 8-12 for assistance crap... than again I find "body part" splits kind of worthless too.

    1. "Perfect amount of reps" -- the concept of "perfect" doesn't really exist in bodybuilding. But you can try 7. 350 is pretty good, too. 8-12 is widely used. 20@10RM is quite useful. 3's and 5's, also very helpful. 17 usually has "bad juju" associated with it, though. But if you wanna get really obsessive with it, 6's and 18's have extraordinary effect.

    2. Common questions call for common answers -- Stickys, oddly enough, have really useful information. The common perception is that stickies are just there to keep threads from bumping into the top of one's browser: "Answer to Common Questions" http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=118885421

Do a little searching on google and you can get an idea of where to start but the best place to find your answer will be in your log book. I have found getting stronger in whatever rep range i am working tends to cause growth.
