    Sugar in fruit

I recently added fruit into my diet. Small servings of blueberries, grapes, strawberries, and/or watermelon. What effect will this have on my diet? I'm trying to get very lean and I don't want sugars, even natural ones, to hold me back.

    Thanks for responding!

The sugar in fruit is fructose and that kind of sugar doesn't cause diabetes, plus not all of the carbs in fruits are from sugar and most of the fruits contain a decent amount of fiber as well.

-Sugar in fruit is not bad. (whether it is glucose, fructose, galactose, ...)
-Fibres don't have energy value (no calories because they cannot be absorbed by humans).

I'm not saying you're doing this, but it's funny how people will demonize sugar then turn around and say the sugar from fruit isn't bad.

-Fibres don't have energy value (no calories because they cannot be absorbed by humans).
Insoluble fibers pass through without being absorbed, but soluble fibers can be fermented by your gut bacteria and the resulting material absorbed. Soluble fibers are often said to produce approximately 2kcal of energy per gram.
