Ron Paul style. Government should stob subsidizing marriage and punishing legally single people, let anybody get into any contractual relationship they want. Why is the government deciding this kind of **** O_o

Neutral. I have many gay friends and straight friends that are very passionate about the issue. I just cannot for my life give a turdlet of a sh*t.

Against. I am against all marriage.
Having special rules for married people (almost always beneficial rules) makes society less fair for single people. Is it not enough that we are lonely, but we need to be financially punished as well? Then there is the unjust divorce laws as well. I say the entire institution of marriage should end.
Any family related legalities should be relevant parent to child. If two people want to live together, that's their business. They can create private contracts with each other to iron out the terms. There's no reason for the state to sponsor this outdated institution.^^^()()GERMANIC CREW()()^^^

I'm Christian but I can't stand that people talk about the sanctity of marriage. While I don't agree with homosexuality, you can't force your beliefs on others and legislate Christian morality to non-Christians. Also, if we based our marriage laws on what Jesus said, people wouldn't be able to get divorced except in cases of abuse and infidelity, so US law already violates biblical law.
Let gay people get married. They have the freedom to live how they want to live. I personally feel they'll pay for it later but I don't see any reason why it should be outlawed.

Once you understand the fact that marriage is not by defintition between a man and a woman and the fact that two gay guys or girls who love eachother want to be married, the government should make it permissible. As a libertarian I see it as a way to maximize freedom and really if you dont like gay marriage then dont get gay married. If it does not pinch my arm nor pick my wallet what problem is it for me. I hope one day even the religious right can understand that.
