    7 weeks into Stronglifts 5x5.....

And I'm beginning to think I may have started a little heavy.

I haven't stalled on anything yet, but the next set of Shoulder presses (130lb) might be the time!

Squats 230lb not too bad but getting hard.

    Bench 165lb still quite manageable.

Barbell rows 165lb getting very hard.

    Deadlift 330lbs getting heavy.

I think the next few weeks will definitely see some stalls though. I was hoping to get through 12 weeks without any stalls but it seems I may have started a little heavy.

Don't get hung up about 12 weeks because that's what was in the spreadsheet...do it for as long as you can. That being said, back before Medhi kicked all the forum members out including those who he uses to help popularize his program to begin with (http://ironstrong.org/index.php?/top...ers-list/)...I remember a lot of people on the stronglift site saying it was not a huge benefit to keep doing 5x5 to the letter (3 stalls/deloads before moving to 3x5).

That is, many folks there reported you don't lose anything by going ahead and switching to 3x5 after one or two deloads.

From logs I've read and my own experience with starr 5x5, 7-9 weeks is about right.

I wouldn't worry too much about how many weeks you've done it. Yeah, maybe you did start too heavy. Maybe not. Just do a couple or 3 deloads, and see how long you can maintain LP. Then reevaluate. Maybe even drop to 4 sets, or 2 days per week. Just keep progressing in a linear fashion until you have to stop. Then move on to another program.

The program defines the progression. Squat 3x / week - increasing 5 or 10 lbs per workout. DL, OP, Bench 1.5x / week - increasing 5 or 10 lbs per workout. The leg stuff can go 10, the upper body stuff is usually 5. 7x3x5 = +105 lbs to squat, +50 to everything else. If I have that right...
    01/07/06 - Quit Drinking. 03/15/08 - Quit Smoking.
06/01/09 - At 118lbs, started lifting, intarweb fasting, and crab backtraced cycling.
