Question need advice for reaching calorie goal

    Quick stats: 5' 8", 178lbs, 27yrs, ~23% BF

I started eating well about a week and a half ago hoping to cut the flab and then then increase my muscle mass. I'm pegged my daily caloric need at about 2800 cals/day.

Since I've started, I've not even come close to hitting that goal, maybe up to 2200 calories in a day. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm having a hard time eating that much.

Thus, my question is, what are some great calorie dense, and healthy, foods that will get me to that goal?

I'm eating good foods; 2 pieces 100% whole wheat bread, steel cut oats, 6 egg whites, 2 cups cottage cheese, 1/4 sunflower seeds, about 12oz chicken, raisins, Two protein shakes (50g protein total) - usually in an average day, so it's good food, I'm struggling to get enough cals in...

Consume foods that contain lots of dietary fat. Fatty cuts of meat, fatty fish, poultry with the skin, full-fat dairy, nuts and seed, etc. Cook with lots of butter. Use lots of olive oil. And don't do silly things like eating egg whites and discarding the nutrient dense yolks.

At 5'8" 173 you're not skinny and obviously have eaten more than 2,200 calories in a day. How did you do it before?

Would these things be OK for the overall goal, just to get the calories in to burn during a workout??

Good. So if you're struggling to eat enough, how did you do it before? Just do that.

That was easy, there's 800 calories in a single Whopper That's how I did it before, nasty and fatty, yet stomach filling.
