A lot of Asians are smart, and there is a ton of them. Could be 3% but I'd guess more around 1% personally. Going to be lower soon, the human race isn't getting any brighter.

In the US that would mean 2.6 million people have a phd.

That still seems absurdly high, given how utterly fcking stupid america is.

you have to figure a bunch of them have phds in really stupid **** like womens studies or something else that essentially just means you need to write a lot of useless bs.
Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. - Bruce Lee

No, that seems like an extremely reasonable figure if you count Ed.D, J.D, M.D, Psy.D and all the people with Ph.D's in something worthless.

What's with the false belief that a Ph.D. = intelligence. Just because a person goes on to grad school after an undergrad, it doesn't mean they are smart. They know one topic well, meaning being an expert in one topic; it doesn't necessitate intelligence. Thinking honestly, most miscers have a good grasp of nutrition and exercise, they could easily earn an M.Sc. in this if they find an appropriate PI. They just have to have intellectual property and novelty in their project. Research is not hard.

But were not counting those- were only counting "doctor of philosophy", something which produces a body of original research, not compiling a bunch of nonsense about feminist philosophy from the 1940s.

um, it takes a significant amount of intelligence to produce an original body of research in a difficult area like science.

Wikipedia states that three percent of Americans have either a doctorate or a professional degree, meaning that this three percent includes holders of Doctorates of Philosophy as well as medical doctors, dentists, and lawyers.

Keep in mind, # of PhDs granted =/= US citizens with a PhD. It is probably around half.

lmao what!? Do you even realize what it takes to earn a Ph.D? It isn't like a BA or an MA.

Outside of the countless hours of work they are doing, they also have this:

A candidate must submit a project or thesis or dissertation often consisting of a body of original academic research, which is in principle worthy of publication in a peer-refereed context.[10] In many countries a candidate must defend this work before a panel of expert examiners appointed by the university; in other countries, the dissertation is examined by a panel of expert examiners who stipulate whether the dissertation is in principle passable and the issues that need to be addressed before the dissertation can be passed.
You are going to tell me that you don't have to be intelligent to publish a ****ing dissertation about something original that isn't just a word for word copy? Bull ****.
