Their 483 pale ale is more hoppy, has better body, and finishes better. This stuff was bland and then finsihed a touch hoppy. I am not impressed at all. 3/5 due to lacking body and hop flavor. Its a smashable ipa, but not a strong reflection of the true style.

Meanwhile, this is a million times better when you age it. Had it "fresh" post bottling; no bueno. Aged a year and some change; muy bueno. Yes, it does say enjoy after 8/4/12, but I drank it sometime in June or July '11 just to see. I should have listened because this is great and probably gets much greater over the next year or three.

It is pretty barrel heavy and should cool off over some years. Looking forward letting the rest sit a while.

Ya, this wasn't too hot. During the transition from "cold" to warmer, I could catch alcohol flavor, but most of it was well-hid.

Damn man sour ales blow. LOLOL. I love living near JP, just saying. This was just lightly acidic; but the nose was insanely complex with notes of tart cherry, apple, pepper, leather, hay, grass, clove, oak, slight vinegar, and barnyard funk. Very crisp and balance on the palate; the light acidity makes this easy to drink.



I also had a monks blood, which was a bit too bready and spicy; but quite good.

Glad I picked this one up on sale for $5. Bleh.

I see 2 maybe 3 unique glass styles I'd want. If you want multiples of the same or similar styles, I'd prefer having matching unbranded or differing with brewer logos I like. I'd pass.

Raspy, stone ris, Breakfast stout are all better IMO. At first I thought it was good, but after subsequent drinks, it's not that great. Used to LOVE Peg Leg, but not so much anymore.

Wild saisons aren't that much similar to regular saisons as the spiciness is generally suppressed and gives way to the brettanomyces character(especially since it was over 3 years old). They usually end up begin super dry as fuk golden ales with peppery spice and complex fruitiness.

Also good luck finding a bottle anyways, last time they made a batch was in 2009. One of my local stores has 1 left, but it wasn't good enough to warrant another purchase. Ill think about it though.
