Cracked open one of dem dere Narwhals. Holy chit, this is delicious. Initially a lot more bitter than other RIS's. Old Rasputin, you got some competition.

Just read about Bolt Cutter in some magazine, maybe Imbibe or Beer. Really wish to try. Barleywines are not necessarily my thing, but Founders never disappoints.
Please provide your review.
Also, for my East Coast peeps, I just posted a review of a Devil's Backbone beer on my blog. Check it out!
Thanks. Cheers!Run. Rave. Repeat.

Barleywines are equally as bad as pilsners, lagers, lambics, and farmhouse crap/saisons to me.
Drinking my first Double Simcoe of the season.... Man this stuff has really fallen off. No bueno with respect to the previous years batches Sorry Waffle, Fugitive, and I think Ice TOfficial Supp. Misc Beer Policeman

Bigfoot does not taste and feel like a barleywine, but more like an IPA, at least the 09 or 08 batch I have (where you at hoe?).
I have a Hop Stoopid bomber here, had it in the fridge, yes the FRIDGE, for a few weeks. Man this beer really dropped off in awesomeness being so "old". Do NOT recommend aging it remotely at all.Official Supp. Misc Beer Policeman

I'm always caught between the fun of trying new things and looking for the "world's best beer" and wanting to just find the thing that will be reliable. To some extent, I have to wonder if I even want an amazing beer that I can only have once or otherwise extremely infrequently. At this point, I can at least say that I am just as eager to seek out the best readily available beers to me as I am the limited season, limited production, only x amount of states carry beers.
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results - Dr. John Berardi

Good beer
Depends on the style. Stouts, I like the sharp, semi-burnt malt flavor with hop balance. IPAs, I like the citrusy hop flavor; whether malted balance or not, idgaf. Porters, I also like the semi-burnt flavor, but a bit more mellow.
Trying the world's best beer will just leave you disappointed, IMO. Sure, it will be good, but then you'll say, wtf, I had something very similar to this at 1/5th the cost and I can go get it at the store right now.Official Supp. Misc Beer Policeman

Finally got around to trying a new brewpub/pizza parlor that opened up next to work. The brew master from Odell Brewing is running the show, so the beers are pretty decent and cheap during lunch specials. More reason to crush a couple beers during my lunch break.

IDK why but I'm feeling in a bad mood, semi-depressed, semi-sad no emo. Can't explain how or why I feel this way... am debating whether it's worth it to drink Nelson tonight in said mood with hopes of cheering me or tomorrow when I'll be in a much better mood when smoking my pork roast and working on the car.
