I checked BA and it seems to be a mixed bag. Will probably open to try, if hated, will maybe make into a marinade or reduction.

Boris is great, but iirc, I found Doris better.... Or was it that I found Boris to be better? Goddamnit. But Hoppin Frog in general makes some really good beers and they're only like 40ish mins away from my hometown in Youngstown, Ohio... They need to clean up their IPAs for them to really transcend IMO.

Anyway, all this talk makes me want a beer. Now. Which reminds me, had Oak Aged Yeti Last night. Pretty good... reminds me of a less polished Abyss. Similar to the Stone RIS or whatever.

Any Sixpoint beers worth drinking? I picked up a 4-pack of their DIPA, and it's decent. I wouldn't buy Resin again, but should I try their other offerings?

I've only had Resin and liked it. I heard Bengali Tiger is like Resin but it is alot less hoppy. Interested to try their Diesel Stout but haven't seen it around.

I've been on a Sixpoint hunt lately. I really liked Resin and Bengali. Diesel tasted a bit "thin" but I think it'd make an awesoem substitute for Guinness in a carbomb.

Brooklyn Black-Ops. Bottled 10/11. Not worth the money. Nonexistant body. Feels light and airy. Flavor is all barrel with a bare hint of roasted malt coming through.

cracked open my Belgium Dubbel attempt only been aging a month, yes green bottles blow I know

not bad flavor is better than I though. Final reading when I bottled was 7.5% abv flavor is almost there

Secondary doesn't even need to exist. Stuff I dont dry hop or put on coffee/fruit/cocoa nibs is going to just basically stay in primary for 3 weeks and then bottle it. As far as too long in primary it would have to be in there for well over a month, so when you need to batch condition big beers that is the way to go.

DME is certainly the best way to get a yeast starter, because you are putting the yeast in a real wort. You need to have it trained to fermenting the complex sugar profile in beer, if you use sugar for a starter it will only be attuned to fermenting simple sugars. If you can't get DME, apparently Malta Goya soda is ok to use as your starter; because it is a beer wort soda essentially.

I have become a big fan barrel aged beers to date this is one of the strongest and best tasing beers ive had. I am trying to get someone to ship this to me

Well it will work out then. Kit gets here tomorrow. I can get it all going, then ill be out of town 28th-jan 5th or so. then when i get home it will have another week. any prep i should do for having it sit unwatched for a while? other than a catch pan and temp control stuff.

I should send you a few bottles at the end of this first brew =P

I grabbed some sam adams whitewater IPA out of a lack of anything else. It isnt terrible actually. There is yeast in the bottle too =O or so i hope its yeast oh and saving the empties for sure

i spent some time talking to the liquor store dude today too. he said he order me what ever i wanted and id pay the normal mark up! granted he might not understand what "whatever" i want is exactly.
