Stevia is the best alternative since it is natural and has no calories as well.

I like Truvia but I don't think it comes in tablets.

I prefer liquid stevia; specifically NuNaturals, as it is the best tasting to me. No bitterness, aftertaste, smooth, etc. Liquid has no bulking agents and/or fillers (maltodextrin??).

Ditto on the stevia. Natural, no calories. I like the powder personally. I'm growing it in my garden

Ditto, Truvia is harsh on the tummy. And many of the others have additives as well, or the stevia is extracted with hexane. Xylitol sounds like it should be natural coming from birch, but the extraction process adds all sorts of nasties.

I read that Stevia actually causes reproductive system issues in both men and women. You have to be careful with Xylitol. A lot of it these days is actually made in China from corn products. From my research only Emerald Forest brand Xylitol is truly made from the Birch tree. That said if very much is consumed in a day it causes diarrhea. I use Sweet N Low for my iced tea. My chiropractor had tried to get me to use this traditional alternative sweetner called Luo Han Guo. He gave me a package of it for free. Can't say I like using it for tea. However, Jarrow makes a chocolate whey protein powder that uses Luo Han Guo and it makes an incredible tasting smoothie. I like how it doesn't cause a sugar spike. I order Jarrow's from Vitacost.com

As long as you use ANY sugar substitute with a bit of moderation, it doesn't matter which one you use.

It's easy to grow, it's just a little herb like oregano or basil. I bought some little starter plants at the local hardware store for $1.75 a piece and put them in a planter, that's it. Just dry the leaves and grind them. I assume you could use it fresh but I haven't tried it yet.
