IIFYM is okay, with some limitations. For instance, you should always try to avoid toxic chemicals that will damage your body/hinder your gains. IMO Big Macs, sour patch kids/candies and other highly highly processed foods with tons of artificial/modified additives should be avoided at all costs. I for one can tell you that if I drink soda I get bad acne for a few days after. I also get worse B.O. This is because of the acidifying effect of the soda, it just has so many shiity things in it that it negatively affects my body. I can't speak for others but I'm sure that the chemicals in these "foods" cause similar problems for others.
To be as succinct as possible: the FDA is a fücking racket and they seriously do not care about your health.. many studies for drug companies, and the corn and fast food industries are highly biased towards the companies (they lobby the FDA to approve their shiitty products). It's best to eat as healthy as possible. The reason Americans are dying of heart attacks is not simply because they can't handle high fat foods (they CAN); it is actually due to the sedentary nature of most Americans, coupled with the ridiculous proportions of sugars and fats commonly found in foods (for example a doughnut: highly fatty and sugary, causing an unnaturally prolonged skyrocket in insulin).
The answers are really simple. IIFYM works TOTALLY fine for athletes who are serious about their training. Essentially, lifting is not enough to do a legit IIFYM diet (consider Michael Phelps, eats as much of whatever he can). However the key is to fit your MICRO as well. If you don't get your proper micros (and almost no one does) you will run in to immediate problems in your life now and later on in life. Literally that is what will kill you.500+ Just say rep back

I think you guys are just jelly that I have eaten over 1300 kcal worth of bratwurst (loaded with lots of chemicals, and contains ~200% daily value sat fat deemed by our gov), several hamburger pattys (lots of chemicals and sat fat), and I'm heating up my second can of chef boyardee (again with the chemicals and fat).
More specifically that I eat like this consistently, and have normal blood pressure, a pulse rate of sub 60 bpm, healthy cholesterol levels.....and so onBest lifts:
Bench press: 315x4, 345x1
Squat: 465x1
Strict press: 185x8, 195x5, 215x1
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

how am i a misled clean eater because i CHOOSE not to eat junk food or fastfood? i honestly prefer lean meats, complex carbs, and veggies to that junk food any day; its much more filling than junk food for one and since i eat like a horse it helps when cutting cals down; also feel like an unmotivated **** if i start eating crap food; just my life choice. it has worked better for me than urs has for u
