thats called living responsible. What is the cost of living in SC? I imagine a 158k house is pretty nice over there.

Cost of living here isn't bad, I live on the far outskirts of Charleston. Even down towards the beach/city it's not that bad. It's pretty sweet for a first house, nothing too fancy, but 3 bed, 2.5 bath, granite and hardwood and all the good stuff like that.

definitely... not the most motivated by money, but I for sure want a position to carry on my and my girl's personal interests outside work... plus eventually 2 or 3 kids... but neither of us care anything about badass sports cars, name brands, anything with a super-inflated value due to something outside quality--to be specific.

plus, dirty south... super cheap here.. but we'll prob wind up on the gulf coast or overseas near a coast.

I make 35-40k GBP depending on overtime, that is well over average wage here, with no degree e.t.c, most people over here with degree's now cant get **** because their degree in bong construction (which they did because they "like the subject")is ****ing worthless. Most graduates start on about 25-30k a year here. Anything over 25k a year will set you up comfortably if your single, 40k plus really required for a 3 child family if your partner doesnt work.

Making over 100k a year here would be lawyer, top GP or self employed only territory tbh and you'd have no problem living like a king on 100k a year, even with a dozen children and a sponging wife. And things are expensive as hell here.....

It's definitely sufficient but along the way make sure you pick up a 2nd skill.

If it be languages, photography, graphic design, web design, pick up something so you can do it on the side with your 9-5. If you break lucky who knows, your hobby could become your 9-5 and your CEOing. If not it's always gon' be a compliment to your working life and you're gonna be on 100K + extra money

You can live VERY comfortably on 50k if you are single. At 100k/year if you are unmarried, no kids or financial responsibilities you will be ballin

Depending on where you live...if you live in downtown Manhattan or parts of LA or something i could see the cost of living skyrocketting since rent is so high for even small apartments.

But in general 100k is ballin

I make 5.8K take home a month, I own a 60-70k car that is paid off (toy) Ford Explorer sport (wifes old car), new ford fiesta (daily driver), 450 TRX, Callaway Golf Clubs, 50% owner on a master craft x-star (2001), put my wife through college last year on masters, tons more toys and hobbies, and just bought a new nice house for 243,000 in clovis, ca.

It all matters how you manage your money. Yes, I want to make allot more money and I do not think I make enough to raise a kid right now, because we like to go to Monterrey, Hawaii, and camp allot. However, once my wife finishes school she should be able to match my pay. It just takes time and work really, I am a network engineer and took my 10 years in the Navy plus school to get where I am now. I am also debt free with exception of my house. I made sure I paid every thing off with in two years and made allot of sacrifice to ensure I did not pay $$$ on interest.

Now if I can not buy it in cash, then I do not need it. My car is a dream car, it is a 700rwhp+ (still tuning) mustang that is going to be on the cover of MM&FF when its done being built.

The important thing here is WHEN you want to be living comfortably on 100k. If you save some and invest well, you'll have a lot more money in 10 years than all these brahs that try to showboat with their money. At 16 it may be difficult to see this, but a lot of young people that have nice things are up to their ears in debt and will be for most of their adult life.

Making 100k is not the same as being able to blow 100k in payments for crap to impress other people. Look at all the athletes that make millions and yet end up broke.

YES! Im looking into pharmacy as well. just cause you see them driving it, don't always assume its all good. Americans are notorious for living above their means, hence debt, credit card debt, etc.. Yea its a nice car, yes its a huge house, but do they own all they have/ what you see? Chances are they don't and they are making payments just like everyone else. So their car payment high as hell, high as mortage, have to pay for premium gas, on top of other bills and expenses. So they probably drowning and barely making it by just for appearences sake, but to you its looks like its all good. Do what makes you happy and what you can afford, despite the costs, as long as you can afford it. 100k is enough to live off! especially if you are single, no kids,and no other responsibilities. Nothing is hat damn expensive and worth it. Can't put a price on living happily and comfortably.

On topic, if you're single, thats plenty to live off of OP. you can get a decent car (im talking charger, camaro), decent apartment, and still have plenty disposable income afterwards. My parents make about 100-110k a year and theres 4 of us. My mom works in finance so she manages money pretty well, I've ne ver gone without anything I need and I have most of my wants. They even paid for my first two years of college. If you, as a single guy can't live comfortably off 100k, you dun goofed. I want to make 70k a year by the time I'm 25. Good luck brah
