    Scoobysworkshop Calorie Calculator

Hey all, I've been using Sccoby's calorie calculator and have been getting good results but I just went back to it today for a quick review and have a question. I am 19 years old and 5'6 and weigh 162 pounds currently. For the activity level it lists:

    Desk job with little exercise
    1-3 Hours/wk of light exercise
    3-5 hours/wk of moderate exercise
    5-6 hours/week of strenuous exercise
    7-21 hours/wk of strenuous exercise/work

Given my age and activity level I kind of need help choosing an option. So, I am pretty sedentary overall when not in the gym. I am usually sitting down whenever I am not. For my job I work in a daycare and just pretty much watch over the kids and when I am home I just relax and play games or something. So, given my age, and uncertainess to just base it off of how much I workout a week some opinions would be awesome on which to choose. Also, I workout now about 5-6 days a week for usually about or a little over an hour each session.

    Thanks!

Lmao, I'll recalculate using stickies and see what I get. Thanks.

Which activity level from the stickies:

1.2 = Sedentary (Desk job, and Little Formal Exercise)
1.3-1.4 = Lightly Active (Light daily activity AND light exercise 1-3 days a week)
1.5-1.6 = Moderately Active (Moderately daily Activity & Moderate exercise 3-5 days a week)
1.7-1.8 = Very Active (Physically demanding lifestyle & Hard exercise 6-7 days a week)
1.9-2.2 = Extremely Active (Athlete in ENDURANCE training or VERY HARD physical job)

Well, I used the Katch-McArdle method. I ended up getting:

    LBM=64.11518181818182
    BMR ended up being: 1,754.887927272727
BMR X Activity Level (used 1.4, good level for what I posted above?) = 2,456.843098181818

so then if I add 10% it equals about 2,704 calories.

Does this seem right with these stats?

    5'6
    162 pounds
    estimatedly 12.93% body fat
and the above (first post) description of my activity

Scooby's nutritional and body composition calculators are extremely accurate, which I suspect is why all of the 'success stories' on his website are under 170 lbs.

His body composition calculator said I was 10%, which was highly inaccurate, I was actually 16%. His nutritional calculator was also several hundred calories under what I am supposed to be consuming.

Just use the stickies, they have everything you need to know for gauging your results.
