Friday - Sheiko 29 1-2
Friday's workout was tough. I almost quit before I even got to rack pulls because I was feeling it, but glad I soldiered on and got it done. Here is a vid from the last group of rack pulls....
Deadlift to Knee - 260x3, 310x3,2, 360x3x2, 385x3x4
Incline Bench - 4x6 155 lbs (DOMs from the previous session made this virtually impossible)
Dips - 5x5 BW
Rack Pulls - 285x4, 335x4, 385x4x2, 440x3x4
Swiss Ball Crunches - 3x15

Off today - just relaxing for most of the day. Played with my son most of the morning and then some video games, tv and fixing my wife's computer. Plan is to hit the last week 1 session for #29 tomorrow - a squat intensive one. Should be interesting seeing how just about everything is sore right now
Oh yeah - NFL tomorrow baby - Go NINERS!!

Sunday - Sheiko 29 1-3
Last workout of week 1 for Sheiko 29 was on Wednesday. Neither squats nor bench were too terrible, just an assload of volume
Barbell Squat - 45x12, 135x8, 195x5, 230x4x2, 270x3x2, 290x3x5
Barbell Lunges - 95x8, 95x8
Barbell Bench Press - 45x15, 135x10, 155x5, 180x4, 190x3x2, 205x2x2, 190x3x2, 180x4, 155x6, 135x8
DB Flyes - 35x10, 40x10, 40x10, 40x10, 45x10
Today is either rest or a "4th workout" consisting mainly of direct arm work and pull-ups/chins. Wednesday kicks off week 2...

Yeah, I think I'm through the worst of the DOMs. The post deadlift session DOMs were brutal, but after yesterday's squats and bench, I'm barely sore through my chest and legs now. I kind of want to fast forward through these next 3 weeks and start the next Sheiko iteration with higher 1RM. I'm feeling stronger and stronger after each session, so hopefully that means the strength I did lose during prep will come back quickly. Hoping I can end 2014 with at least 1 new PR

Glad to see you're back on sheiko! Your progress on it earlier was one of the reasons I decided to make the switch

Still alive - just struggling with consistency in the gym. Haven't been in since Wednesday. Fri - Sun wife was out of state so I was tending to my son and helping my inlaws move some furniture up from MD to PA. Picking back up this afternoon with week 2, day 2 of Sheiko 29, deadlifting. Feeling pretty good today - motivated. Hoping to crush this workout and get back to business...

Sheiko 29 2-2
Crushed my deadlifts today. Didn't feel too terribly heavy which is a great sign. Knee gave me a little pop behind the right one during one of the paused deadlift reps, and then a little soreness in the back of the knee up through the hamstring. Just a nagging thing, nothing serious. This is the same knee that's been paining me during squats too. I should probably use my knee sleeves during deadlifts right now but I haven't been. Will keep an eye on it though.
Deads to the Knee - 260x3, 315x3, 360x3, 360x3, 385x2, 385x2, 385x2, 385x2
Bench Press - 135x6, 155x6, 155x6, 165x6, 165x6, 165x6, 165x6 (as light as this was, my left shoulder was tight and burning, which made it harder than it should have been)
DB Flyes - 40x10x5
Rack Pulls (3 inches below knee) - 285x4, 335x4, 385x4, 385x4, 410x4, 410x4, 410x4, 410x4

So again as it goes - haven't been in the gym since my session on Monday. Been busy with family stuff most of the week. My wife had her gall bladder removed yesterday so the entire day was spent in the hospital with her. Today was spent caring for my son while my wife rested. Tomorrow will be much the same, though I'm hoping to get a 90 minute break in sometime to get to the gym. Really having a hard time making gains with such inconsistency lately.
There is a bit of good news though - I was hired by Top Secret Nutrition as a rep this week (see signature), so if you do some supplement section lurking you will no doubt see me there slinging my knowledge around. Several guys from the boards put in a good word for me with TSN, including our own Bob (The Solution), so many thanks for that!
Trying to get life back to a semblance of a routine - as much as we may loathe the monotony of the day to day grind, I'm yearning for it at this point because it at least has some gym time carved out

Got in a little break tonight. Spent the day watching my son and taking care of the wife, but inlaws came this evening to wisk my son away for tonight and tomorrow. Immediately made sure the wife was comfortable and then grabbed my gym bag and hit the next Sheiko session in the plan. It was squat/bench/squat. All went well until the last set of 270x4 on squat for the night. Right knee really started hurting so stopped after 2 reps. Feeling better now, so hopefully it was nothing serious. I think it's just the volume of the squats and my body not getting a chance to adapt to it due to the constantly missing sessions.
Spending tonight getting caught up on work and watching the Olympia. If I"m not overly sore tomorrow AM I will go in for the next sheiko session, which is of course more bench and squat. Want to take advantage of the free time while my son is with the inlaws.
Trying to stay positive and planning to use tonight's workout to build some momentum and consistency so I can start seeing the weights on the bar moving in the right direction.

2 in a row! 2 in a row! 2 in a row!
Was able to get into the gym today and bro it out with some arm/shoulder/back work. Nothing too crazy. My arm/shoulder strength/endurance is down pretty low at this point - but I'm not really focused on that at this point - getting the big 3 up is priority number 1.
Planning to get back in tomorrow morning and hit my Week 3, Day 1 Sheiko 29 workout. Let's get some momentum going!
