Weakpoint workout on Wednesday went well - focusing mostly on arms and shoulders. Thursday was a day off and today (Friday) hit the gym at 5 AM before work to kick off week 2 of my program...
Week 2 - Day 1:
Squat - 300x5x5
Bench - 180x5, 195x5, 210x5, 230x5, 245x3 (wanted 5)
Barbell Row - 185x5, 200x5, 215x5, 230x5, 250x4 (again, wanted 5)
Swiss Ball Crunches - 4 sets with 10 lbs
Hyperextensions - 2 sets with 10 lbs
Workout was great. My numbers I'm using for this program are very aggressive, especially for the pressing and rows and I was thrilled to get 230x5 so soon after prep. My bench strength always tanks and it takes me awhile to get back up to 225 for just a few, so I'm in a great spot in that regard.
Tomorrow or Sunday will be squat/deadlift/OHP. Can't wait for 435x5x5 on deadlift. Wanna rip some **** off the floor!!!

Thanks - I'd say if I can get 3 days in a row with weight staying the same or dropping, I can say it's stabilized but until then...
I wouldn't call it a reverse because I haven't been tracking my food since my show or aiming for a certain number on the scale. It's been 2 weeks post show now and last night was the first night where I really didn't want to eat just for the sake of eating. All the days before that I had an insatiable appetite and was eating just to eat. I think I've reached the point now where mentally I'm not craving mass quantities of food.
That being said, I'm sitting around 213 lbs. I think I will level out around 210 if I can get back to eating 3000-3200 calories a day. So all said and done, up about 16 lbs from the day of the show. If I can reign things in here at 210 lbs it will have been the most successful post contest period I've had in my career. My weight usually balloons up to 225+ really quick after a show. I'm not out of the woods yet but I know I have the discipline to be able to get things under control now, especially because the impulses from my brain to just binge are gone.
Went running this morning - 1.5 miles at 8:40/mile pace. Ankle and shin started hurting a good bit so ended up walking the next mile. ~500 calories burned. Planning on taking my wife and son to see Inside Out in 3D today. Will be my son's first movie theater experience so very excited for him! He's 5. This movie looks really cute and funny and since it's a Disney/Pixar film I am sure it will not disappoint!
Tomorrow is Father's Day and I'm looking forward to some squats and deadlifts in the AM!

Took my in-laws out to eat for Father's Day tonight at Golden Coral (all you can eat buffet). I did good having 2 plates of salad with thousand island dressing, a small plate of white rice covered with bourbon flavored chicken and half a steak. Didn't eat until I was stuffed and passed completely on the desserts.
Having my joints hurt like a biznatch during my run this morning really drilled home the fact that the extra pounds, while I don't care about them appearance wise, they take a toll on my body, especially ahead of me running a 5 mile race July 4th. Definitely doesn't make running any easier, that's for sure!

Took some major will power but I avoided a binge last night for the first time in 2 weeks. As a result - down over 3 pounds this morning to 210.1 lbs (+16). Went to bed way too later and of course my son is up way too early (he's up by 7 every single morning). Looking forward to Father's Day today, making my rounds to visit everyone's father and have some tasty food.

You ever consider not eatin trigger foods or foods that are easy to binge on. I know I could sit down and eat an entire box of cereal at any time so if I know I can't control my appetite that's a food I won't eat. Foods like that I just wait until I'm mentally in a better spot. Just a thought, don't wanna see u at 240 in 2 weeks!
Seems like you have it under better control lately and better than last prep as well.★★★ RSP Nutrition Lead Representative ★★★

For sure! There are foods like cookies and cake and pretzels that I don't usually keep in the house because self control is an issue
Most of the stuff I ate the two weeks following the show was stuff already in the house from during prep and now it's mostly gone. I am not hungry anymore though like I was right after the show. I am in a good spot now both mentally with the food and body weight wise. It will just be a matter of me either making good choices the next couple months or doing my cardio. Historically I would eat crap AND stop doing cardio completely. So long as I keep cardio in at some level I shouldn't have an issue keeping weight off because my metabolism is pretty high.

Reasons I hate grocery shopping during the last two or three weeks of prep ^^^^^ I always end up with random sweets and crap sitting around the house. They sound good while I'm deprived but, once the show is over and I'm eating a little more food, it takes a good while to get rid of them. They just don't sound appealing after my show!

Thankfully this wasn't much of a problem for me, with the exception of some Reese's eggs and Cadbury eggs left over from Easter. I was keto by that point in prep, so candy was out of the question lol.
Regardless, Stan, I'm glad you're getting a handle on the eating. It's definitely hard, and people who love food (e.g., me lol) have a harder time with it."The weak-minded would shrink away from what must be done for fear of being ridiculed by the wicked" - Terry Goodkind

Today...
Weight - 207.6 lbs (+13.6)
Weight has come down nicely since my desire to eat mass quantities of crap has subsided. Likely going to get my weak point workout in today and MAYBE go for a run depending on how my hips are feeling. Will be taking Saturday off while my wife is away on conference and then Sunday pick back up with Week 3 and some serious squat and bench numbers to shoot for.
Everyone enjoy your weekend!

The road back...
Well I'm back.....again, and hopefully for good. After falling off hard after my June show and spending the months after battling some personal issue (through which my wife was clutch in helping me navigate and overcome), I'm back to a healthy mind and body (albeit much less strong).
I'm starting my 3rd week back to the weights after basically a 3 month layoff. I squatted 305 x 1 today which I'm extremely proud of after only being able to squat 245 a few weeks ago. My only ambitions at this point are to stay healthy and happy and put aside the extreme competitive nature in order to achieve more balance in my life. While there are no more plans to compete in the near to mid future, I still enjoy coaching via Demon Fitness and have 2 clients stepping on stage in 2 weeks which I'm thrilled about. Living vicariously through your clients is amazing!
I'm also attending the NABBA Nationals in Lancaster, PA this coming Saturday where Marc Lobliner will make his NABBA pro debut. Gonna be an awesome show.
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to hopping on here at least a few times a week to post/comment/harass.
Take care!
