    pain while squatting

I know this is a longshot without posting a video of my form, but I thought I'd try get some insight before the next time I squat.
I'm on starting strength, so I'm following Rippetoe's squat form.
On my warmup sets, I get a sharp pain while I squat down. It's near my groin/top of my left quad. But when I'm on my heavy sets, the pain is a lot more bearable.

Has anyone experience this/know of something like this? I squat down below parallel, my last set was 225x5. My stance is quite wide, and toes point out around 30 degrees, as suggested in the Starting Strength books.

    Thanks

It could be a lot of things. Hopefully it's musculoskeletal related - try doing some passive angular stretches for the hip flexors prior to your sets to see if that helps or not. Really take the time to feel the muscle lengthen, and make sure you do the strength on both sides. Another possibility is an Inguinal Hernia - usually aggravated when bending down or lifting a very heavy weight. Any type of hernia isn't fun to deal with, so I'd recommend seeing a professional about this if it doesn't get any better.
