The Problem With Fish Oil Pills..

So I've recently been given these Purity Products Vitamens and or Pills. One of them is a fish oil omega-3 pill and the other is an Advanced D Pill. These bottles together each with 60 pills is a total of almost 100 bucks. I did not buy them so don't tell me Im wasting my money. I am told that they are super concentrated so they will of course cost a lot more but also be more effective. I have been taking them for a couple of days now and I have noticed for about 4-6 hours after I take them I burp and ton and the burps literally taste so bad that they make me want to throw up. It's not only burping either. My poop almost smells like fish oil as well. I am very confused and I was wandering if this was normal and if I should stick with it or maybe too strong and I should lower it down and get some Optimum Pills. I read on the back of the fish oil bottle and it contains 650mg of EPA and 500mg of DHA, if that matters at all.

Please let me know any help is welcomed! (EVEN IF ITS A HYPOTHESIS)

Fish oil tastes like fish. You ingest fish oil...and then burp...they're called fish burps. Some people get them, some don't. Some brands claim to have no fish burps.

I use NOW fish oil and have never really had a fish burp problem.

No fish burps with Oximega, some repeats with NOW ultra omega. Might help if you freeze them and ingest with food.

I actually have better luck taking them on an empty stomach. I try to take them about 30 min before I eat. I use CL Oximega. At first, I didn't get fish burps, then they came out of nowhere. I do freeze them, but I don't think that does anything, really.

I get the occasional fish burps with Oximega, but much less than the brand I formerly used.

I got the fish burps sparadically with NOW, but not so much with ON's, which states right on the bottle "No fish burps."

I am gonna try some of Controlled labs soon.

you can buy enteric coated fish-oil that will stop fish burps. with regular capsules, some people get them some people don't. keep reading peoples posts for tricks to avoid them.

Regardless, take with food, that typically helps the burps. Or put them in freezer that will help as well. Otherwise, change to something like Controlled Labs OxiMega fish oil which rarely if ever causes burps. Unfortunately, this is just what happens when you intake a lot of epa/dha.

I have noticed for about 4-6 hours after I take them I burp and ton and the burps literally taste so bad that they make me want to throw up.

1. Enteric-coating.

2. Freezing slows degradation in the stomach allowing more to pass into the intestines.

3. Some fish oils contain the lipase enzyme, thus assisting in fatty acid digestion.

4. Try reducing the amount of air swallowed upon ingestion.

5. Taking them just prior to food [may] help as well.

I clearly stated that each bottle has 60 pill in EACH one. I also stated that I did not purchase them and were given to me by a family member so as I said in my post do not tell me it's a waste of money.

why does everyone complain about this yet it doesn't happen to me?

try krill oil, supposedly better for you than fish oil, and no nasty burps.
