    My cat loves ZMA...

Anyone know why? After I take one, he smells my hand and goes absolutely NUTS!
I held one in my hand and let him smell it and he just went crazy. Something to do with catnip? Very curious, and wonder if its safe or not.

It might be flavorings, I'm not familiar with ZMA beyond knowing that ultimately it's a vitamin/mineral supplement containing zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B-6. If nothing else I'd look up what toxicity levels of those ingredients are for cats to determine if it's safe, but I also wouldn't recommend wasting your supplements as cat treats either. I'm reasonably sure catnip is less expensive.

If you're really interested, you could compare the chemical structure of catnip's nepetalactone with the various ingredients of your ZMA and try to derive some sort of similarity. But given that cats go crazy over things other than catnip (mine freak out at the sound of the can opener, for instance), the ZMA/catnip correlation is tenuous at best.

I had a cat that would go nuts over red wine. Whenever a bottle was opened, the cat was there. He'd constantly try to drink it. The other cat in the house could care less and had no interest in red wine.

    Some cats are just weird.
