I would have to disagree, I have never felt low bar squats in my quads, switch it to high bar and I feel it 100% more.

Are you high?? You've obviously never done a heavy set of 10 low bar back squats and felt the excruciating burn in your hammies.

No. Bastardizing a quad exercise to try to target your hamstrings makes absolutely no sense.

Is this real life? Noarmsjustlegs is actually spot on. Once you adapt to a high frequency split, you'll notice that your muscles will recover much faster and you'll almost never be sore.

It's easier for some people to activate their quads but squats are a quad-dominant exercise for everybody.

Are you ****ing serious Eric, this is why people hate you. They want to target hamstrings by using a variation of the squats, its not to "bastardize" the quad excercise its to ****ing hit their hamstrings. Its similar to other excercise variations targeting different muscles. Pretty sure you used modifications, variations, etc of the original excercise, you sounded like a contradicting moron stating that the quoted above.

I don't believe it's an indicator of growth, however, muscles don't just randomly get sore for no reason. If its sore, you used it.

A quad-dominant exercise should not be the only hamstring work you do. This logic really makes no sense.

Most people stop getting sore altogether once they adapt to a high frequency split.

Ever heard of Close grip bench press instead of regular distances or wide grip bench press? Same ****ing concept you moron. Targetting particular muscles because well thats the muscles you want to ****ing target you morn.

And towards your "The logic makes no sense"

They do it because they want to target those muscles more. Maybe they're lacking in that area and they want to stimulate it more? They could do isolations but well, what puts more stimulation than 225 on what your targetting

Completely irrelevant comment altogether. We're talking about hamstring soreness from low-bar back squats. Not adaptation to training frequency. Stay on topic.

I allways thought squats where a primary movement for quads and glutes, and deads were a primary movement for hamstrings and glutes.. hmmm...

Hamstring curls and straight legged deadlifts put far more tension on the hamstrings than squats.

    More weight =/= more tension

Again, you need to get over that stupid mindset.

No. Doesn't bother me much to be honest considering the collective intelligence of the forum.
