I love sci-fi, but this movie was complete garbage.

BRB geologist/map maker getting lost (who the fuk decided that moron is one of humanity's brightest and should be on the ship?)
BRB biologist playing with serpent creature in a cave full of dead remains (again, who the fuk picked this chode)
BRB characters actions never fully explained, such as David poisoning whats his face (this does not add intrigue, it's just frustrating)
BRB David learning a completely new alien language by analyzing human linguistics....r u srs not possible
BRB boring/uninteresting, even action scenes were lame and couldn't redeem this clusterfuk
BRB a pg-13 movie posing as an R movie
BRB retarded character deaths ("JUST KILL ME!!"......wtf? was I supposed to feel emotion at the death of this terribly established character?)

Cliffs - This movie sucked, almost asked for my money back. Gonna go watch Alien/Aliens to clear my mind of this BS

vast majority of you dont even know the real relation between this movie and real life religions that believe in exactly this(terraforming etc) that are very prominent in practice among high up gov officials.

I have not yet seen this posted in here, it was a viral video released on TED talk before the movie. This movie fell short ultimately, a good movie, but not a great movie it had a TON of potential. As others said, not a lot of explanation, odd acting for characters etc.

-so the engineers, like "god", were kind of kunts. they were pissed with their creation (us), and just wanted to smite us to death. well fuk them, why did they make us fukked up, that's not our fault.

-disagree that the movie sucked. seemed on par with other aliens.

-why did the engineers give humans a map to their military base? maybe it was something else 30K years ago, then turned into a military base later, then alien jesus sent as last ditch effort. and when we killed jesus something magically fukked up their process and forestalled our doom.

-engineer dude wakes up and first request he gets from humans is (presumably) everlasting life from old dude. and he is like nah brah we fidna peel dat cap.

A huge aspect of the film was whether or not David had his own agenda, feelings etc. Why do you think they showed him fixing his hair, talking about movies, saying stuff like "I was afraid you died" etc? We dont know what he told the engineer, we'll probably find out more in the sequel tho. But to me it was kind of obvious he wasnt just a programmed android doing whatever people told him to do.

EDIT: Also, when he poisoned that male scientist, he asked for permission first. If Weiland put him up to it, he would just have done it, because Weiland most certainly didnt give one fuk about the other crew members.

Engineer killed himself to create life on earth. (He's Prometheus, the Titan who created humans and was condemned by the Gods)

The engineers (Gods) being pissed off that he created life on earth decided to give earth to the predators as possibly a peace offering for them to gtfo.

One ship had already infected earth with that black goo that makes aliens. Prior to movie.

In AVP, the predators said they used earth as a kind of training ground where Aliens were the target practice.

Humans survived.

In the original Alien movie, the only reason the Android f*cks **** up is because he was given explicit orders to preserve the xenomorph, and that the entire crew was expendable. So I'm sure David was given similar orders.

I think it's wrong to assume the map was for us. Maybe the map is for other engineers. Clearly humans don't need a map to the base since they don't have ships lol.

More likely the scientist made a mistake and that base was a relay point back to their planet and that's why there were so many ships there
