Is it douchey to do rows in a squat rack?

I hear a lot of b!tching about curling in the squat rack, but is it douchey to do barbell rows in the squat rack?

You shouldn't need a squat rack to do rows in, so in other words, yes.

This. Just be respectful of others. You can do whatever you want if the gym is empty, but don't use the rack if it's during peak hours.

Where should I do them then? And where should I get the bar from, like from a bench or what?

If the gym is busy and someone needs to row, just do them outside the rack, otherwise seems a reasonable use of the rack

    Hell no its not.

I always Row in the squat rack, the gym has plenty. It's a lot harder for me to take the bar from the ground and do a set than take it from a rack.
I row more than most people at my gym squat anyway

The general rule is to remember that the gym is public. Unless you have your own garage set up, then nothing in the gym is yours alone. This goes for people who hog a bunch of dumbbells for extended times, put a bunch of paper, water, towels, etc. on a bench and using it as a 'desk' when there are people who'd want to use it, curling, rowing, deadlifting, overhead pressing, etc. in the squat rack when others are waiting to use it, and so on.

None of these things are offensive, wrong or....'douchey' as you put it...in and of themselves. You could easily use a preacher rack for curls and rows, sure, but use the squat rack for whatever you want. The only thing you need to do is make sure that whatever you are doing is not inconveniencing others.

jw, how do you do bench then? if the safety bars are too high, you couldn't touch your chest, but if they're too low, it wouldn't matter because the weight would get stuck on your chest anyway?

    serious question, just wondering.

You find the right spot for the safety bars. Not too high. Not too low. Just right

It is douchey to do anything other than squat in the squat rack. But there is one exception, if all the deadlift platforms are taken, pull away

    ^Not always.

The one in my gym is BOTH a squat rack and a power rack in one.

Most power racks I've seen in the gyms I've been in, do have the basic build to also function as a squat rack. Considering they're also the only racks in those gyms, I'd say the comparison is 'as good as'.
"Do you have an erection, man?"

"I just broke a personal record on deadlift."

"And now I have an erection."

Huh? Of course you can squat in a power rack. But a squat rack is basically a half-cage and usually no adjustable safety's so you can't do things like rack pulls from various heights (partial deads).

I hate these racks, you can't do rack pulls in em and you can't do ATG squats cuz the safety bars are welded
OP, I always do my rows in my squat rack/power rack, easier to grab the bar when you don't have to bend all the way down lol
    You workout, I train.
