Met-RX 100 %Casein

So I had some extra cash left over after buying a 4 pound tub of Cellucor Peanut Butter and thought I would try a casein protein. Met-RX Casein had the highest reviews for a casein so I thought, why not?



25 grams a serving


Powder is somewhat fine, didn't notice a smell when I cracked the tub.


Stuff mixes nice, no clumps in 8 ounces of water


Smell-No smell before and after so can't really give a score

Taste 1/10

This stuff tastes nasty! I don't know why it got such high scores but barely made a chug and half of it. Can't really describe the flavor, maybe like old 80's early 90's protein powder. I'm either giving this away or try to send it back. Sticking with Cellucor P/B Marshmallow as all around protein for now

Just bought the chocolate version to use as my before-bed protein... Induced by the good ratings also and the 20% coupon. I have it with a PB&J (no sugar or salt) with low sodium Ezekiel bread. As for the mix, no clumping but it's a little gritty. As for the taste, casein never taste as good as whey, so knowing this, it's not bad... but I certainly wouldn't drink just for the taste. I do use more water, 12-16 ounces, than you do, so maybe I'm diluting the taste more.

For a casein powder in my opinion it tastes pretty darn good. I've had many different caseins over the years and none of them have the taste of say a whey concentrate. It's just the nature of the best. It's a product you use for a purpose rather than for a treat. Ya know? Perfect for before bed.
