Do i need extra Amino Acids?

    Hi!

I was wondering if i need to buy extra Amino Acid capsules? I'm asking this question because I am already taking Casein (before workout) and Whey (after workout), and I am told that there are AA's in both of them.

    Thanks in advance,
    Robbert

Edit: Both prottein shakes are from the brand "Gold Standard 100%"

There is also BCAA in the protein you eat from whole foods. I would say there is no need for BCAA if your protein intake is sufficient.

Thanks a lot for the current replies, but what do you mean with ''fasted or on a deep cut training?''

    Thanks!
Fasted meaning no preworkout meal consumption prior to working out. Let me give you an example. Sunday's I wake up at 4:30am or 5am & head to the gym. The only thing I take is a preworkout supplement. In this case i'm in a fasted state with no food in my system.

A deep cut would be eating below your caloric maintenance which leads to muscle loss in exchange for reducing bf%. Some go extreme with a 1,000+ caloric deficit.

And the only reason being in a severe calorie deficit becomes relevant during BCAA discussions is because when one is restricting calories, they may tend to drop below optimal amounts of protein. Now there are bros out there eating huge amounts of protein on a cut, and I doubt that they would see any real-world benefits from free form BCAAs when they are able to keep their protein levels adequate.

This times 1,000,000. Your diet is where you should be getting the majority of your nutrients from. Protein powders and other supps only fill gaps in which you are not getting from your diet. Do not look to supps as a whole source of nutrients for your body bro.

No, the average diet should provide enough. The only time I have ever noticed a diff is when I'm in prep phase like now with a macro deficit.

A lot tend to drop carbs and up their protein intake and like you said could result in BCAA not being needed.
