My legs have always been much stronger than the rest of my upper body, probably genetics (my dad was #1 at his university in breast stroke). Since this is the case, is it OK if I take it easy on my legs while I train the rest of my body until everything about evens out? Right now my squat is about 235, while my bench is only 145 max. I know there is the whole "doing legs releases the most growth hormone to the rest of your body, it'll help your other gains), I just wanted to know whether doing squats perhaps 3x6-8 on my shoulder /tri day would be sufficient to keep my legs the way they are and still get the extra gains to the rest of my body. Keep trianing your legs as you already do.
More upper emphasis, add more sets for exercises. Or do upper/lower, doing upper twice and lower once. Do not neglect your legs.

06-04-2012, 03:34 PM #5Ka0s :In my experience, doing heavy barbell squats, bench presses, deadlifts, military presses, rows, etc. builds no significant muscle mass.
What you need to really get big is a solid routine which focuses on light weights and cable movements to really force blood into those muscles and get that deep burn & powerful contraction
