I decided to lose weight around a year ago and today I have lost 60 pounds. I'm 21, 6'2 and was 320 and I'm now 260 and now the strongest and fastest I have ever been in my life. I workout 3-5 days a week (w/ cardio and lifting) and I eat around 1000-1800 calories a day.
You think I would be happy today, but I'm not. I still look the same as before I lost weight. My body fat percentage has only dropped 4% since the last time I checked which was about when I lost 40 pounds. I am now 20% body fat from the calculations. I have little definition on my arms, back and shoulders. And I still have a gut. The biggest problem I have are my gigantic man boobs despite working out my chest the hardest. All I have is a lot of muscle underneath and a 335 bench. And apparently my doctor says I don't have gynecomastia, even though most people don't have this problem. So getting the surgery that i deserve is no longer a possibility.
I even have recent pics attached, it's freaking awful.
The only reason, I'm even losing weight is to be aesthetically pleasing in order get women. I can care less about a 'healthy lifestyle'.
Why is my hard work wasted on such awful results. What should I do? Should I double my workouts? Consume more thermogenics (metabolism boosters)? Experiment with several pills?

My calories are estimates from my iphone app, Myfitnesspal. I don't exactly have a strict diet plan where I can remember everything I eat. However I try to eat in sensible portions. I eat a lot of protein, fruit, whole grain and vegetables. I only drink water and milk for cereal or my protein shake.

You need to really keep a solid track of what you are eating...I can "guess" how much I ate too and try to feel better about myself and say "oh I only ate like 1200 cals today, I can fit in another bowl of cereal".
The harsh reality is your not keeping proper track of what your eating...Its great that you lost that 60lbs, you that as your motivation for the next 60! All in all though you absolutely NEED to keep a track of what you are eating. I am not talking from my ass, I was fat once too. I have a few of those black composite notebooks filled with days and days of eating/weight training logs.Last edited by subbob; 06-04-2012 at 04:31 PM. Reason: stupid bold tags lol

couple things:
1. you are not 20%, 30% would be closer...
2. its like a paper towel roll...envision every pound as a square of paper towel...you can unwrap the first half of the paper towel roll and not see a difference...however, every 10 pounds the leaner you get will show a HUGE difference in your body. Trust me, I was 270 or so 8 or 9 months ago. from 270 to 240 or so I looked like a smaller version of myself. the first 20 pounds no one even noticed. from 240 to 220 I started changing shape...now every 5 pounds makes a huge difference. when you are very lean (180 or so for you), 5 pounds will be a couple percent body fat and will make a tremendous difference.
you just have to keep going and have faith that its going to work, because it will.
I DO think you are not counting your calories correctly. 60 pounds in one year is 5 pounds/month....thats a deficit of 600 cal/day or so...that doesn't jive with what you say you are eating.
for instance, I eat at 2,000 calories per day, also work out 4-5 days per week, and I am losing 6-7 pounds per month, and I am much smaller than you are. see what I am saying?
see the link in my sig.
just count, COUNT, calories religiously for 2 weeks and see.Stern Crew

going to have a solid diet, if you wanna lose that weight you gotta be motivated, i pre make your meals for every 3 days, eat basically the same food every day but you dont have to do that its just easier, be half assed, get half assed results. no processed stuff, veges, meat, eggs, nuts

You guys saying he isn't counting, misread his post. He is using myfitnesspal, that website is for hardcore counting and logging of everything he eats. Like he said, he's just eating a mixture of different things and isn't sticking to any hardcore food intake but is obviously keeping under a certain threshold by using myfitnesspal.
I think your problem is you just need to lose more weight and it will come down more like the above people said. The problem with that fat and lower belly fat is it's harder to lose fat and is often some of the last fat to go from everything I've read. I'd say just keep at it and you should see it shrink more and more.

You need to get your diet in check first, i was only 240, and lost 79 lbs in 7 months, you could do a lot better due to your bf level.
Of course you arent aesthetically pleasing, you still have a long way to go, dont even worry about women until you are at a more reasonable bodyfat level, even if you are lifting, it shows that you cant take care of yourself if you are obese, which honestly and not being mean but the truth, you are obese. You need to stick to a solid diet and time will take care of the rest.
You have a long road ahead of you so you need to get things in gear and be patient. There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Yeah, there's no way you dropped just 60 pounds in a whole year eating 1000-1800 calories a day. Obviously everyone has different genes, but 5 pounds a month at that caloric intake isn't likely. I've been in that same calorie range for 2 1/2 months now and I'm closing in on 50 already. AND I started at a lower weight.
As far as appearances, it really takes a while to notice it. The first place I started to notice was my legs. From 285 to 260, my legs really thinned out, and toned up from the cardio. I've been told that my face is thinner, but I can't tell the difference. From 260 to 240, I'm just now starting to notice my stomach and chest tightening up. The best advice I can give is to judge your body changes by how your clothes feel. The clothes you wore at 320 should be way too big at 260.Beginning Weight: 285 (March 18, 2012)
Current Weight: 195.6 (January 11, 2013)
Nothing in this world that's worth having comes easy.

I gotta agree with a few others..diet, diet, diet. Different things work for different people. 60 lbs. Lost is a good accomplishment but most guys at your size can do that in half the time. Plan and count. What you eat and when you eat it will help you meet your goals. Some tend to eat the same meals, at the same to help keep things on track. Even when eating "healthy " foods randomly, you can quickly throw your best plans off. Every meal should be on purpose.
Stick with it. Your next 20 will have a bigger impact than your last 60.

I have no doubt hes counting, but hes counting incorrectly. I use myfitnesspal myself and you still need to weigh/measure everything to be accurate. Saying youre only eating 1 serving of something without weighing it tells me nothing. For example, 1 actual serving of cereal is MUCH smaller than anyone thinks. "1" serving is more like 3 or 4 in reality, for the general public.

Just gotta be consistent with your diet and have patience my friend... All of the areas that you hate about your body are the places where the fat will cling to the very end. You've done an excellent job dropping the first 60, now keep it up and get 60 more.

60 pounds is a great start, dont be down on yourself. just keep up the good work. also, with women, they like confidence so use your losing 60 pounds as confidence for yourself and go get some!

I've got a picture of myself on my Bodyspace @ 5'11" 275 lbs, and my man-boobs barely protrude. If he's 6'2" 260lbs in those pictures, then it's probably loose skin or gyno. Also, that side-picture looks like he's sucking in his stomach, which consequently makes the chest (and man boobs) look much larger. On a side note, I feel it ruins the credibility of a weight-loss progress photo if you suck in your stomach, but that's me.

First, good work on the 60lbs... every lb get you closer and closer to your final goal. Check out the Fat to Fit thread for motivation if you need it... i know it's helped me through....
But, just to clarify... You measure everything by food scale (or w/ measuring cups), and input everything that has any caloric value? Everything? Cuz above you said something like "I cannot say everything that I eat because I eat new things almost everyday."
In my experience, food can be the most difficult but most important part of this process and i think that's why you're seeing so many responses concerning an accurate food diary.
Stay the course. It can get frustrating at times, but if you develop good habits, you'll get there~Yesterday you said tomorrow~
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit. "

"I don't exactly have a strict diet plan where I can remember everything I eat."
Well, start. Log everything you eat. Buy a food scale. If you don't own one, I don't believe you can accurately track anything. No app on a phone can tell you how much "30g of walnuts" is .. etc.
Eat at a deficit and keep cutting. You'll be amazed that you'll continue to look better and better.
Congrats on the weight loss so far! You've done a great job! Keep cutting! Don't give up!
