sup bros. i'm 33, i just got married (tomorrow will be our one-month anniversary) and we have a kid. I work in the IT field and have been for over 16 years. My dilemma is that I have been doing this for so long, I'm currently at the top of where I can go without furthering my education (certifications, degree, etc).
So, I started studying for my certs. MS Exchange MCITP Enterprise, Network+, then onto CCNA, CNA, and VCP. I have found myself bored out of my mind studying for this crap. I am no longer interested in IT it seems. I find it boring, I sit at a desk all day on the computer, usually with nothing to do because our network is usually up and running smoothly. Sometimes I will take on the occasional project, but that is fairly rare.
I think I want to get into Chemistry or become a DVM (veterinarian). So I have been looking into Biology and Chem degrees and then maybe moving on the veterinary school for vet medicine.
Should I make a major career change like this so late in the game of life? Or should I just continue on my path I'm currently on? I feel that I would be so much happier working with animals or chemistry/toxicology.
What do you guys think? Any advice, preferably from the older members that won't say stupid **** like "ur gay" or "that's funny, same thing happened to me today, I'm 33, I just..."
