Misc my tap broke and the water won't stop running

What do? Like the tap just literally broke off but I can't turn off the water.

EDIT - Here's a pic of the valve that's impossible to turn. Do I need a screw or sth?

    Here's my broken tap:

I live in a student studio dorm thingy. There isn't one in the bathroom where my tap broke, but one in my 'kitchen' which has one valve which says 'hot water' and the other 'cold water'.

Are they the same things? Can I still shower if I turn it off?

This! Follow the pipe to a valve and close it. If the water is still coming out try the other direction lol. Still not working, follow the pipe to the next valve and repeat until it stops.

If there is a water pipe running to your sink look for a small screw somewhere along it. Turn the screw with a screwdriver. It should turn the water flow off.

K, I found out its running through the cold water valve. But that chit is impossible to turn. Do I need to use a screw to loosen it or sth, because there is a screw there.

main water valve might not be necessary. Look under the sink in the cabinet or whatever and see if there is a valve to turn off the water, or a nut that you can twist with a wrench to turn off the water.

edit: Yes, get a screwdriver. Surely you have one somewhere.

I don't have a wrench but may have screw driver. The screw is in the middle but im scared if i unscrew it or sth all the water will rush out and flood my place.

    I've never done this before.

    I've never done this before.
Just screw it slowly and then turn it back if the water starts leaking more. It's not like turning it a fraction of an inch is going to make your pipes explode.

Jesus christ, turn the stop valve off under the sink, their should be one for the cold feed and one for the hot feed. Depending on the type, 99% time you don't need any tools.

There is nothing under my sink because it runs straight into a wall panel behind it. Although it is coming through my kitchen 'cold water' pipe and there's a valve there but its impossible to turn.
