I'm so sorry for your loss She sounds like she was a fighter. You did the best thing possible in such a horrible situation, you were there by her side and you told her you loved her. I'm sure she was comforted by that fact and she went in peace. I'm glad you got to say goodbye to her, that's a blessing some people don't get. Make her proud every day OP.

Its the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with, and it always hurts, but it does get easier.
I lost my mom sudden too. One minute she was out getting her hair and nails done with her sister, same night I got a call from my dad that I better come to the hospital.
Rushed to the hospital at like 120 MPH fearing the worst, but hoping it was just another scare....then i walked into the room in ER......there she is on the bed, mouth open, eyes shut, dead.
I am tearing up just thinking about it. I was supposed to hang out with her the next day. She had been in and out of the hospital the last few months.
We have to just be thankful we had our mothers for the time that we were allowed. Think of the happy times. My mom should have died when I was just a young kid from this disease, she was a medical miracle for the level of heart disease she had. She lived long enough to see most of my acheivements, except for marriage and kids. Getting married June 20th this month. Wish she was here to see it. This is not about me though, just trying to let you know you are not alone, even though it can feel like it sometimes.
Requiescat in pace to the lovely Mrs. Sinatra

op, I dont post often but this literally nearly brought me to tears. Your recap of your moms final days moved me so much that I felt the need to call my mom and simply tell her that I love her. I am sorry for your family's loss. Keep your head up. I know its cliche but time really does heal everything. Mourn her today but celebrate her life tomorrow.
