    Good hamstring exercises beside deadlifts.

what are some good hamstring exercises besides deadlifts? can't do them due to injury. GHRs are too hard to do. What are others besides deadlifts and leg curls?

When I first tried them I vastly underestimated them. I figured I could deadlift plenty, so my hamstrings must be pretty strong already. Boy, did I ever pay for that one the next day.

I thought the exact same thing. lol I was pissed when I couldn't even do one and I also had a pretty decent deadlift. It and squats have increased dramatically since working with my GHR.

Sprints, split-squats, leg curls with swiss ball and light RDL's.

I say light because its easy to put too much weight on the bar rather than actually focusing on the movement and feeling the hamstrings work...

Prone leg curls only hit one of the 4 hamstring muscles. You need some form of hip extension.
During hip extension 3 of the 4 hamstring muscles are used, the other hamstring muscle is primarily used during knee flexion (prone leg curls), this muscle is not used during hip extension (well technically it is but it's activation is perhaps 15-20% at most).

I was going to, but I let the GHR nutthuggin go on!

For me a proper leg day:

    Low bar squat
A hip dominant hamstring exercise (goodmorning, romanian, pullthrough)
A knee dominant hamstring (either leg curls or GHR)
And leg extensions (I tell myself this is to keep some sort of Quad/hamstring balance.)

If i am feeling frisky, I might do some glute bridges (infront of the cardio machines preferable)

RDLs, Good Mornings, Pull-Throughs, weighted Hypers. Of course if you can't Deadlift, and think GHRs are too hard, you're going to have trouble with any exercise that will effectively work hams.

Well none of those options will work if he has an injury that prevents him from doing deadlifts.
