From a nutrition standpoint, up your mass is a good product, but I would recommend it only to get your calories up. Some of the other mass gainers would be better to put on muscle. I would recommend Dymatize Elite Mass or Universal real gains both of those have Matlodextrin as their main source of carb. This is actually a very simple carb (in terms of digestion like sugar), but it helps a lot with muscle building. When taking after a workout, the carb will be digested fast just like whey protein. It will spike your insulin levels which is important after a workout for muscle repair, building, and restoring glycogen. The combination of maltodextrin and whey will help you put on muscle and all the fats in both products are healthy fats they actually help you loose weight (CLA, flaxseed oil, ect.) Up your Mass has barley and oats as its carb. While healthy for upping your calories, it will not give you the post workout muscle building reaction you are looking for.
Also, you may take creatine with a mass gainer. Creatine is water soluble, not fat soluble. So like vitamin B you cant have too much. Worst case you just have more expensive urine.
