Do you stretch before bench pressing?

Just curious how many do this. I always do this, however I am questioning whether I should anymore. I used to stretch all the time when I started now it feels like even if I stretch it doesn;t make a difference.

I don't stretch, although I do make sure to warm up my shoulders properly before doing any upper body day, as well as doing warm up sets of the first lift I'm doing.

stretching before lifting makes your lifts weaker. If you stretch do it after
Training with Osteolysis and a gigantic ganglion cyst... One day I will surgery, but not today...

Static stretching can lead to inelasticity of the muscle - hence the loss of perceived strength.

Stick to lower weight warm up sets as suggested above

yes static stretch makes decreases lifting strength but the trainees who were studied in the experiment underwent detailed drills of static stretching 0f 30 mins with each set lasting 30+ second
i sincerely doubt you'll be stretching that much
even lyle MCD recommends a little stretching before workout but its totally your choice

but as said above make sure to warm up properly
