I am not asking for you to do the problem for me. But if you know its wrong can you explain where I went wrong? I know its easy math and I should be doing more studying but I lack willpower.
So here goes.
Rewrite the quadratic function in standard form by completing the square.
y = –x^2 – 12x + 3
x^212x=3
(12/2)^2=(6)^2=36
x^212x +36= 3 +36
x^212x=33
answer: x= 6 + (sq rt) 33?
Find the vertex of the parabola associated with the quadratic function.
y = –(x – 15)2 + 7
answer= (15, 7)
Find the vertex of the parabola associated with the quadratic function.
y = –x^2 + 4x + 10
(x+2)^2+14
v= (2,14)
A rancher has 600 linear feet of fencing and wants to enclose a rectangular field and
then divide it into two equal pastures with an internal fence parallel to one of the
rectangular sides. What is the maximum area of each pasture?
Lost. Anything?
Find the standard form of the equation of a parabola whose vertex is (–1.9, 6.1) and
passes through the point (–2.5, 6.406)
f(x)=a(xh)^2+k
a(x+1.9)^2+6.1
a(2.5+1.9)^2+6.1=6.406
a(6.46)=6.404
a=.0560
answer: f(x)=(x+1.9)^2+6.1
Find all the real zeros (and state their multiplicity) of the polynomial function.
y=9x^6(x+3)^4(x6)^3
answer: zeros, 0, 3, 6 m, 6, 4, 3
Find a polynomial of minimum degree that has the zeros (sq rt)5 (with multiplicity 2) and
(sq rt)5 (with multiplicity 2).
P(x)=(x(sq rt)5)^2(x+(sqrt)5)^2
Find all the real zeros (and state their multiplicity) of the polynomial function.
f(x) = –8x^4(x – 17)^8(x + 9)^3(x – 20)
zeros: 0, 17, 9, 20 m: 4, 8, 3, 1
anything? More to come and will give reps for help.

4 3 3x –13x – 40x – 50 x – 5
Divide the polynomials by either long division or synthetic division.
4 3 2 16x –12x –14x + 45x – 50 4x – 5
Determine whether the number –6 is a zero of 3 2 f (x) x 2x – 40x 64. If it is, find the other zeros.
Given that 7 is a zero of the polynomial P(x) = x3 – 12x2 + 39x – 28, determine all other
zeros.
Use the rational zero theorem to list the possible rational zeros of the polynomial
P(x) =x^3+ 10x^2 3x+ 105
Use the intermediate value theorem to approximate the real zero in the indicated
interval. Approximate to two decimal places.
f(x)= 2x^35x^27x+8 [2,1]
Find all zeros (real and complex). Factor the polynomial as a product of linear factors.
P(x)= x^4 900
Factor the polynomial as a product of linear factors.
P(x)= x^4 +8x^3 +27x^2 +70x+50
Factor the polynomial as a product of linear factors.
P(x) x^3 – x^2 –12x +90
Ok now I got lazy.
