I've noticed that the vast majority of posters in here who discuss R/P topics, namely philosophy, meta-ethics, science, metaphysics, theology etc are males. All the major posters are dudes, lets face it. I've also noticed in real life women rarely, if ever, have interest in more abstract subjects removed from the 'daily grind' so to speak- all the women I know and talk to mostly discuss other people, jobs, relationships, popular culture, gossip etc. It just simply feels a bit wrong for a typical 'hot chick' to discuss things like Wittgenstein, or moral ontology, or cosmology and I've honestly never seen it. In fact, I could count on one hand the amount of times I've discussed these sorts of things outside of the internet with actual human beings in the flesh, male or female, and most of those conversations were with my brother.
Is there any reason for this, or maybe just a bizarre coincidence?

They don't care about anything that doesn't directly involve them somehow.

It's probably partly because roughly every third poster here considers women to be a retarded sub-species of human beings and is prepared to say so. And partly because male demographics favour these topics.

As for the 'not caring about anything not directly related to them somehow' that reminds me of the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt-
"Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people" Its one of my all time favourite quotes and everyday the truth of it is attested to.(listen to any random conversation on public transport, its always about other people and their problems)
I'm not sure of women may be slightly less intelligent than men, but if it were true, it wouldnt surprise meNov 04-fatass @40%bf

True, but then the vast majority of men aren't either. While I'd say there are more men that are politically inclined than women, I wouldn't say it's by a huge margin.
Add to that the fact that our society makes it possible for a woman to be set for life if her boobs look big and she can suck a mean d!ck, and the general dumb-down-ness of most people...yeah, it's really not a surprise.

OP, women are also the ones most obsessed with coolness and 'group opinion' and numerous other things. IE they worship popularity and such. Even my mom, who's a great Christian lady would freak out if I didn't do something 'polite' or in some way wasn't being social with people at church whereas to me / my brothers, that's not even a big deal
So I've had a lot of situations like yours Lucious and thought a lot of the same thoughts, I don't think it's related to intelligence because on IQ but even on WM they're very equal, so its definitely something different than their brain power -- I'm not sure what though

Again, this transcends internet forums. Even in my extended family, the girls all lol when my and my dad get into politics and they all have "???" to say.
I knew a politically active girl in my history course and two women interested in philosophy, but they weren't too pretty on the eyes. Girls also don't like political things on ********.
No black knight, just experience.

This is true of young children. I'm a Christian so the people I hang around still have kids*gasp* and young boys like to explore etc. Just yesterday my little nephew was off in his own world away from the BBQ and smacking a balloon that was tied to something and going crazy laughing. Serious he's always exploring, always looking at mechanical cause and effect -- Whereas if you see little girls, they're much more interested in dolls and people, pretending their adults and such
So I'm sure that as we see differences as adults we could also find differences in very young children, how much they like to cuddle, how much they like to go off exploring, etc.

I think you're being dishonest or think that being in a class and parroting what you hear in there/on TV is being 'intellectual' -- if you look at being intellectual as being interested in ideas and trying to develop your OWN ideas, then I haven't met a girl who did that, but I know a lot of guys who do that.
Srs you can train a parrot to write a college essay if you could get it to memorize enough words brah But being able to relate disparate ideas and try to come up with something new is something I never see with women -- I see a lot of women who're 'vengeful intellectuals' also, a lot more than men, like when they think of ideas it's out of a different motive than your typical Darwin/Tolkien

Your argument sounds like something a slave owner would have said 150 years ago about his slaves being unintelligent. How many women do you personally know? Sounds like not too many. Also, at your age no one really has any ideas of their own. It's like your field of view is a super small hole and you're only seeing part of the whole.
It could have also something to do with the college you attended.
