How will drinking water help with weight loss?

For the last few months i've been drinking a minimum of 6 glasses of water to 12 max per day but was wondering even though i saw results by drinking lots of water how does drinking water help you lose weight exactly?

I believe it's involved in the kerbs cycle? Maybe.. it's been a while since I had to know that.

Regardless everything works better when you're hydrated, digestion, thinking, skeletal muscles... etc.

    Keeps hunger at bay too.

Water does not help you lose fat, except for easing hunger.
The only weight you are losing by drinking excess water is water retained by the body due to high levels of sodium and/or low prior intake of water.
Fat loss is strictly based on calories consumed versus calories burned.

When you drink water your body also consumes energy to heat it up to your body temperature. Not much though, I think that drinking 1 L of iced water consumes 75 calories? But hey if you're losing weight every little bit counts so drink up.

it's about 35 per liter. and that is assuming you drink it just above 0, and you drink it quickly.

it's not as easy as it sounds

It helps quite a bit if you understand WHY it helps and how to use it.

When you're really hungry you can slam a big glass of water and it curbs the hunger pangs for awhile. Other than that it keeps you well hydrated which is more of an overall health benefit rather than a fatloss benefit.

    Thumbs up

By replacing high calorie sodas and juices with water, can help you lose a lot of weight. How?? It is because water is a great way to cut your daily calorie intake. It can help lose weight by helping you to feel more full when you eat because liquids fill up your stomach just as well as food. Since fiber kind of soaks up water, if you do not drink enough water for the fiber you eat, you'll get constipated.
