That sucks, but guess what? You could tear your biceps off the bone doing a pullup, or suffer a compound fracture missing a rep on a bench press - does that mean you are going to stop lifting all together? If this taught you anything, it's that 1RM's are extremely dangerous, and all in all rather pointless (not sure if he was going for a 1RM, just ate, don't feel like watching). Life is too full of risks to let sh-it like this bother you.
