if your just starting, stick with olive oil, butters, mayo, cheese that is less than 1 gram of carbs, some nuts. lots of green leafy foods, if it grows under the ground its not keto food, if it's grows above the soil, you can eat it. make your own mixed veggies, carrots, corn, peas, sweet pea's is a no no, even onion's too. your protein should come from fatty fish, chicken legs/thighs <-cheaper on your wallet, save your chicken breast on carb up days or if you want to switch it up. fatty cuts of meat, bacon- imo eat nitrates free, same goes for sasuages but be careful some are full of crap. same as in hotdogs and beef jerkys. no milk, breads, whole grains, noodles. i suggest you search in the stickies for more food options if you need more choices.
    eat, sleep, lift.

Today's my first day on keto, and I AGONIZED over the diet! I seem to have a reasonable week's worth of meal plans though so all is good. I keep my fats all healthy...olive oil on the veggies, but also coconut oil. I made my own homemade coconut mayo and it ROCKS!! I wasn't comfortable with the pre-made dressings and gunk in the stores, I like to know what I'm eating.
Never even thought about the peanut butter though...thanks for the tip!!
