For almost a month I've been eating food that is zero carbs, except for the 2g or so that happens to be in sausage, cheese etc. In fact, my diet is mostly meat, eggs, cheese, and some broccoli. Actually, now that I think about it, I drink a lot of coffee with creamer in it. The creamer is 3g fat, 1g carb, and 1g protein for 2 tablespoons (standard creamer, not the flavored stuff). I read on here that having the metallic taste in your mouth means your in ketosis because of the ketones you breath out, and I had that for a while, but now its gone. I was wondering if this means I am in ketosis or not?
If I'm not in ketosis, is the coffee creamer keeping me out of it?

After a month you are most certainly in ketosis. As for the side effects they are the result of your body not using all the ketones that are produced so the excess is excreted via breath and urine. As you adapt you will become more efficient at using the ketones so there will be less being wasted or excreted. Hence the breath/taste goes away. You may show negative on Ketostix as well because again they read excess ketones. This doesn't mean you are not in keto just that you are more than likely using what is being produced. Grats on your first month keep it up
