Strength 4-6 Reps, Hypertrophy 8-12 Reps.

So I'd say inbetween 6-8 reps would be ideal.

Any rep range will build size and strength for the 500 millionth time.
You think when the Romans were building the coliseum they were like

"**** brah, you lifted that dere stone 5 to 8 times for five sets, you gon get dem dere optimal gains"

    No!!!!

****ing lift, ****ing add more weight every time you lift and quit worrying about **** that does NOT matter. Your body doesnt count reps.

Yes, initially. But you will see on a graph that 5 x 5 x time, and 20 x 5 x time will BOTH give size and strength gains if you progressively overload. OP didn't say which muscle fibers he wanted more of, nor give a time frame. Eventually either set WILL multiply, making you stronger faster and yield more mass. Make sense?

Best rep range is between 3 and 15.
Don't just do one rep range.
Best results will come if you vary it

    good post.

I might even go as far to say 3-20 considering the higher reps that people have success with for calves and stuff.

True, it definitely depends on the body part sometimes. Especially with calves and maybe forearms.
