I did workout A of the modified SS version today:
Squat 3x5
Bench 3x5
Chins 15-20 total reps, add weight or use assisted.
Rows 3x5 SUPER STRICT
I calculated the weight i was supposed to use according to the "10% less than the weight for my 5-RM" rule--this came out to be 45 pounds. I know, I'm weak. I squatted decently and the 45 pounds was "just right" for me. I benched okay although it was a little crooked. As for chin ups, I couldn't do all 15 in my first bang. I did 10, stopped, took a minute, did another 2, stopped, another minute break, and then did the last three. And as far as rows, I had a hard time understanding the form but I think it worked out okay. I found this awesome youtube video that showed how to do it pretty nicely.
The problem is is that I don't really feel a burn, an ache, or anything except on my biceps, which resulted from the chin ups mostly. It's probably because I wasn't using that much weight relatively. Is this normal for your first time?
How do you think i did?
