Is it safe / alright to take a whey / creatine shake post-workout?
I've read that they can alter each other's affects?

The one thing that I have found when mixing whey and creatine (pure powder) is that the creatine sometimes ends up on the bottom of your shaker cup if you don't drink it fast. If your the type of person that likes to take a swig every few seconds instead of just chug your protein shake down, make sure you shake everything up in between swigs so the creatine doesn't end up on the bottom of the cup.

it's definitely ok to do this man. it's actually a great time to take them together since you're depleted and all those nutrients will flush into the muscles right when you need them. i take creatine and one scoop of whey immediately post workout and then an hour later i have a whole food meal and this has really seemed to work for me.

True. In some degree. But irrelevant, if I have to be honest. If the uptake ratio is increased, you could lower the dosage (which probably nobody will, it's cheap and it's not dangerous) or, assuming you had a very depleting workout and no PWO or whatevs, it could help overcoming those shortcomings.
I know, you shouldn't feed trolls and ignore some attempts, but I don't think you're a troll, thus I answer

I've been taking Creatine and Whey Protein for the past month or more together. I just space the time out a little bit (Creatine first then Protein 5-10 minutes later). This way my stomach doesn't go nuts on me. I haven't had any adverse affects yet.
